New to site, but not to the game

I've been playing now for about 17 years (I'm 32) now. I've played every sport that was offered to me growing up and I'll be damned if this isn't the hardest one I've ever played!!!

When my football days came to a sudden end from a hyperextended dislocated elbow and after a full year of rehab. My grandfather's love of the game and the realization that I needed a non-contact sport in my life to at least try and keep me out of trouble became obvious everyone! 17 years later and I'm still addicted... And it maybe worse now than it ever was before.

I'm 6' tall and a slender 175 now, but all those years of sports taught me a lot of things, including how to hit the ball a mile. I average right around 300 with the big stick and IF I keep it in the short grass, I tend to shoot right around par.

Last week I had 170 yards to the center of the green, almost all carry over a pond. I normally hit my 8 iron 160-170 yards depending on if I hit a cut or draw, wind, elevation, blah blah blah. I told myself I needed to step on it just a bit... Better to be long than short on this hole... I hit that 8 iron (draw) 213 yards! Clear over the green and the bunker. Hell I even hit it over the cart path some 40 yards beyond the green!!! Needless to say I was shocked and it didn't help me much on the hole, other then not losing a ball in the drink🙄

Anywho, just another golf addict from Texas here. I move around a lot chasing hail damaged vehicles, but I grew up, and I'm currently back in the hill country:)

Tour Exotics 3 wood is in the bag because we are allowed 14 clubs.  It's a great club for pulling balls out of the water or from bushes - you never want to put your hand into anything in Florida unless you are absolutely certain that it's safe.  There are rare wind conditions when I might hit it off the tee on a few holes that I play.
