That will work as well. The one benefit of the Nuun tablets is they are not powder and designed to just be dropped in a water bottle. I used the powder for a bit and it became a pain in the a$$.

Sorry man, been there.  A few years ago my wife complained she was gaining some weight and WE were going on a diet to which I went and got another beer.  She asked if I heard her and replied "yep, you are getting fat and we are going on a diet."  Beer through a straw really is not that bad....

I usually head out about one hour after a meal, so there aren't many times i am feeling hungry during a round. I'll eat cliff bars for sure, but try to avoid sugary to processed foods to avoid a crash/ greasy fingers. Beef jerky is not too bad, not really into eating foods that require heavy digestion, its one way to ruin your round by diverting blood flow to the somach.

Ive had energy drinks before rounds, but I am not sensitive to caffiene so haven't had issues with that. I beleive getting paired up with strangers and playing throught wreck my nerves more.

Most of the time I'm so excited for golf I forget to eat and feel slightly drained by the time I get to the turn. I buy a and a Jameson on the rocks or a whisky ginger and destroy the back 9. It's all about the swing oil :) When I do remember breakfast, I bring nuts and a for the front and get the and Whisky on the back. It's golf for God sake. Enjoy yourself I love trail mix too!

Personally i think if I eat before a round I usually can go 18 without anything. That's assuming it's decent play though. 4 1/2 hour rounds change that badly. as I've gotten older, i think it's getting harder not to eat.

My club started carrying the 10th tee energy bars by SCNS sports. Best bars I've ever tasted.

They also have a 1st tee bar pre round.

They are available online in bulk packs.

I also may take tried and true PBNJ sandwich with me.

  • 1 month later...

I like to eat lightly before a round. Normally on say Saturday morning I'll have a couple of hard boiled eggs and a cup of fruit yogurt. At the turn I have a PB&J that I brought. Seems to carry me well throughout my round. Afterwards.... I chow down.

Saturday morning before I leave the house I usually have a cup of coffee, and then forget to eat so then I get really hungry at about hole 6, then try to get to 9 to get a sandwich or something, when it get really hot, I don't want to eat, but it's necessary, and lots water in hot days is needed as well, sometimes even a Gatorade or Powerade.

I'm doing it all wrong...I barely eat and def don't have any go-to's. I'll get a hotdog at the turn usually but I just drink water, Gatorade, and soda otherwise.

I used to bring energy bars but I always found I was fiddling with the wrapper on someone's downswing. But I will easily go through 4 bottles of Gatorade.

There is no spoon.
