Mine have always worked. I use the Chrome browser on my PC at home. What has never worked on my home Windows PC is the Chat New feature in the lower right. But I just noticed today it is. Perhaps it's because I updated my Chrome browser yesterday to the latest version. Who knows.

I don't get any notifications. Not sure why.

Anyone else having issues getting site notifications on their phone?

Noticed it about a week ago. Finally checked all my settings and everything looks good to receive them.

Phone is an android, Samsung galaxy s5.

I never get notifications of any kind. I used to get bombed with emails so I turned the email function off. Still left app notifications on and still receive silence.

The MGS app on my Nexus 5x was working fine for awhile but then out of the blue stopped sending notifications. Don't know what caused it.

 

I began using Tapatalk on my Nexus and iPad for accessing the forum and have had no trouble since.

I really want to be more active on this site.  For me that means getting update emails for new topics, post and replies.  I would like to either get a daily digest or individual post emails for new topics.  I think I have the correct settings, but I get nothing.  Is there some sort of secret settings?  What am I doing wrong?

Probably need to be more detailed on what settings you have made.   Assuming you have followed all the forums and changed your profile settings to send you the emails I would think you should be getting them.

I don't think that will send you an email,  I am pretty sure that you will get notification in the app.  If you are trying to get push notifications,  maybe you have that turned off;  that would be in the phone settings and not the app.

Sorry to hijack your thread. I think you can set email notifications from your settings on the desktop site. For me, they were on by default and I had to go there to turn them off since my inbox was getting blown to smithereens.

You can also get periodic mailings on the blog and fun topics by entering one of the sweepstakes on the MGS proper site (not the forum). I get cool little nugget emails from that a couple times a week.

It's never worked for me. Even if I go to the "notifications" tab it's just old blog posts and the links don't work. I've just accepted it as a fact of life that the notifications don't work on the app.

 

Just like I can't get my tabs configuration to save when I close/open the app. Or like how all the html shows in PMs making it look crazy when folks do a hard return.

 

 

No big deal to me. I'm sure they've got a long list of priorities and the app is probably reasonably far down the list. I'm just happy to have the ability to digest reviews and photos on the go.

It's never worked for me. Even if I go to the "notifications" tab it's just old blog posts and the links don't work. I've just accepted it as a fact of life that the notifications don't work on the app.

 

Just like I can't get my tabs configuration to save when I close/open the app. Or like how all the html shows in PMs making it look crazy when folks do a hard return.

 

 

No big deal to me. I'm sure they've got a long list of priorities and the app is probably reasonably far down the list. I'm just happy to have the ability to digest reviews and photos on the go.

OK so I retract part of my statement. After the forum went down today, I uninstalled and reinstalled to try and fix it. Now my tabs save in the right place.

 

Still no notifications or PM formatting though.
