Notifications?

Im starting to experience more and more of the upgrades that were rolled out last week.

 

its a little thing but i use gmail and my email notifications that have the same subject all tie into the same email/conversation. so it makes it a PITA to go thru it, and i missed alot of notifications just because.

 

Now the subject titled changes and says "such and such replied to your topic"

 

as i said its a little thing, but its a nice upgrade -

 

 

and it looks great on my droid!

I too like the new email notifications and the new adjustments overall. Also, and this might be a touch off topic but whatever, the forum really seems to be piking up. I mean, it's not march 15th again but lots of new members and newbies that are posting more often too. It is much more rare the past week or two that I see the "View New Content" page blank. More people have been posting more often, rather than just a few people posting 100 times a day. And this is a good thing. So keep up the good work!

Is there a way follow threads that you post in? I am new (signed up a long time ago and just found my way back) and havent seen a way to do it yet.

Top right, just above the "start new thread" or "reply to this topic" buttons there is a "Follow this forum" or "Follow this Topic" button. If you press this it will give you a couple of different options on how you want to follow and how it alearts you.

You can also click on your name (upper right) and click the my content tab, that will show all the threads that you have posted in.

Hey everyone! I have a little red "3" on my app saying that there are three new notifications, messages, etc. however I have checked everything and I can't get the notification mark to go away. Anyone else having this problem? It's not a big issue, but it's annoying to see and I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks!

Weird. Maybe logon via a web browser and check, see if you can get into Notifications and find anything new,...?

I always click the three lines for the menu in the upper RH corner, then click notification.

 

Once you're in notifications I believe the settings menu changes to a few dots, and from there you can select 'Mark Read.'

 

Pull down to refresh from there and the little red boxes besides wash notification should go away, and the badge on the app should too.

 

It's a bit cumbersome, but those little red things drive me crazy too. So that's how I get rid of them.

Had the same problem on the web version being viewed on my android phone. Click on the four squares located at the top right then select notifications. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the notification list then select "mark all read". Hope this helps.

I had the same problem and it was bugging me so I turned off the badges option for this app in Notification settings

Same issue here.  All notifications have been cleared on the website through a laptop.  Went in to the app and cleared all notifications on my phone as well.  No messages, no notifications showing, but the home screen still has the red "1" on the app icon.  No idea how to clear it.

 

I know I can turn off the badge notification, but I still want to know why there is a 1 there.

Same issues on the iPhone app version, apparently there was an update to the app yesterday morning but still having the notification with no actual notifications once in the notification section.

I can't get the number 2 to disappear. I have searched everywhere for something I have not taken care of to no avail. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it after rebooting my phone.

Same thing for me but it's a one. No idea how to get rid of it properly.

 

If it bugs you though you can turn off badges in the settings and then you will never get numbers there

Mine fluctuates between 1 and 3. Seems to be a 1 if I have no notifications and a 3 if I do.

I can have any number showing.  It's been as high as 46.  It goes up and down.  I ignore it.  I know, I know, if you are OCD it's tough!

Well basically everything was fine until April 24 then my notifications stopped working. I like to keep up on things so I like to see notifications. Anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?

Mine have always worked. I use the Chrome browser on my PC at home. What has never worked on my home Windows PC is the Chat New feature in the lower right. But I just noticed today it is. Perhaps it's because I updated my Chrome browser yesterday to the latest version. Who knows.
