sixcat
I find it fascinating and hilarious that I don't have any in golf. My friends and I have this conversation often. In my misspent youth playing baseball, I couldn't put on my equipment or take the field without exhausting several iterations of superstitions. I still have a damaged tooth from a tension release technique I read about in Sporting News when I was 8 and used until the end of my playing "career". I was a basket-case on the baseball field. artful_golfer
lou mcconaughey
I have a 1883 half crown my grand father brought back from ww1. I put it down so the king is looking at the hole so the ball knows where to go. Rusty1885
My playing partner handed me a couple of white short tees "custom length" about 1" tall. He made it with the tee sharpener from a broken tee. I politely put it my pocket and used it on a few holes. I shot 81. I normally only carry a spider ball fixer, a short yellow tee and a green 4more yards tee. The last 10 rounds my scoring avg is 72. The only difference is the 2 white tees. Those baseball superstitions were the best. Especially the huge variety of "Rally (fill in the blank)s" I wasn't overly superstitious besides the fact that I'd always clean my cleats the night before I pitched, never step on the foul line, and always cross out whatever crap the opposing pitcher wrote on the back of the mound. Also I had a hygiene grooming routine that had to be followed to a T. Oh yeah, how could I forget, I would switch from pants up to pants down and back depending on how my last outing was. I guess I was a little superstitious. I would tape my fingers a certain way, strap/unstrap my equipment the same way every time, normal "routine" stuff I guess. I used to piss umpires off during warm-ups by doing my level best to get rid of as much of the batters box as I could before the first pitch. Not sure why I ever did that but I did, every game. tony@CIC
MaxEntropy
Most of mine are more habits - divot tool, one tee, ball market in right pocket, nothing else in any pocket. The closest thing to a superstition is my wallet can't be in my pocket. I will stop in the middle of a swing if I think my wallet is there, almost like I think it will throw off my balance. DaNNsN
Glove always goes in left front pocket, 1 long tee and 1 short tee in right pocket. Big coin and small in right pocket (big for long putt, small for short), head always faces up to cup. Always wipe wedges with towel after every shot. Readjust glove before every tee shot. wow, I never really realized all the kooky stuff I do until I actually started typing it all out Rusty1885 and artful_golfer
Canucklehead
I've thought about it for a while, and I don't know if it'd be called superstitious, so I'll let you guys decide. Always have my wedge tee, ball marker, and a ball in my right front pocket, GPS and glove hanging out of my left front, scorecard back left, and phone in my back right. Wooden tee tucked inside my hat on the right side. I don't get psyched out or anything if I don't have one of those things in my pocket, but I always try and have them in my pocket Sent from my E6853 using MyGolfSpy mobile app artful_golfer
Reesedw
Played Sat and played really poorly on the front.. So bad that I had a couple of beers (I normally do not drink while I play). I decided,, for what ever reason it was the balls, Yeah I know... I switched balls Immediately started playing better birdied 1st hole, and was 4 over through 8 on the back 9. Not just Number or such completely different ball.. Sometimes little things seem to work.. I know it's psychological but hey whatever works, right.. artful_golfer and revkev 2 Quote Dave- Follow me on twitter @GolfCrazyWA and on Instagram @GolfcrazyWA WITB: Cobra Ultralite Cart Bag Titleist TSR3 Hzrdus Black 65g shaft Cobra F8+ 3wd Hzrdus Red 65g shaft Cobra 3 hybrid Rogue Pro 75g Shaft Cobra 4 hybrid Rogue Pro 75g Shaft Cobra F8 irons 5-GW KBS tour 90 stiff shafts Cobra King Black Wedge 54* Cleveland RTX Zipcore Wedge 58* Snake Eyes Viper Putter. pulledabill
Try to keep only white tees in my pocket. If game is off I check my tee coloring in my pocket. tony@CIC
I also neglected to add. I always use a new ball when I'm hitting over the water.
