Picking dead last. It's going to be a long wait for my 3rd and 4th picks! I've never been in a 16 team draft before. Interested to see how this goes.

Well, I got involved in things last night and was away from the computer and tried to log on with an Ipad but the ESPN Site requires Adobe Flash to work, and we all know how Apple and Adobe get along...ha

 

But looking at my pick, other than the fact auto-draft picked 3 kickers, I probably wouldn't have done much better.   At least none of the kickers were 1 round picks...ha

Gotskowskie is from where I'm from and close to where Tazz grew up so I figured it was a sentimental pick. I could be wrong though.

Any sites run free leagues anymore? I used to do the ESPN stuff like Gridiron Challenge, but they got rid of it since they were using someone else's program.. It was fun, easy, and free!!!!

Speaking of kickers can you believe Tampa Bay picked one in the second round and now he can't make an extra point?

 

Looking at my team I was concerned about my receivers but in looking at the rosters we all have holes. I have RBs to spare so that's good. I couldn't have done a lot better. Knowing I couldn't be there live I specifically limited K and D to 1 each and QB and TE to 2. We will see how it plays out.

 

Also I had Gurleyhigher on my list, #5, and got him at 9 so I'm happy.

I don't pay much attention to kickers, but I got Janikowski (sp?) in the 15th or 16th round. Seems he's as good as any of the others. Defaulted to the high potential Jaguars for my last round D/ST pick, but then remembered they're playing my Packers in the first game. Maybe I'll switch them out for whomever is playing the poor Vikings in the first game.

 

First time I was ever in a league over 12 teams as well. One really has to scrape the bottom of the barrel in the later rounds, eh? I stopped picking RBs when I couldn't even recognize the names that were still available!

That's the fun of deep leagues. You're looking for someone who's a flier or is backing up the back up in a really good situation.

It was a very interesting draft. I took a lot of sleepers just hoping someone will rise up and do something this year. We also have a fairly large bench so you can take a chance on a few guys and see what they do.

yeah - I was just kidding; it's all about opportunity cost and the opportunity you give up picking a diff. player with higher upside in the early rounds vs. a kicker.

 

Got to say - this is one of the first drafts where I've seen kickers and DEF go so early.  2 positions that are easy to stream.

Absolutely-- not getting analytical though as this may be someone's first dive into fantasy football. It sounds as though gostkowski grew up near him and as such he has a tie to him. That's the cool part!!

Agreed. Give me trading over waiver wire any day. There's practically no skill to the waiver wire

To be honest the benches are a bit deeper than I meant them to be. I was going to do 5 bench spots over the standard 7 but got caught up trying to get everyone into the league and set for the draft. This is the first time I've commished a 16 team league so its a bit of a learning curve. I've played in leagues this big before but haven't run one until now.

 

yall better learn to make friends and be nice to people so you can trade

Trading!  Love the concept... in my home $$ league nobody trades and it's only 12 teams.

Looking forward to setting up some trades.

In a league I used to run free agent pickups cost 5$ and trades were a

$1. Really encouraged trading
