I think I may hold off until I read more of the Ping wedge reviews and I go to myrtle beach for my family vacation and see what the PGA Superstore has on sale. I just went through the same struggle. Good luck. My wife was about to slap me I kept asking her which wedges, these or those, this one or that one. Finally she got it right and I bought them. Same with the putter. Took me 2 weeks to decide between 4 different things. It's tough to change wedges, they are my magic wands, don't want to mess with it. But they don't make mine anymore, so these better be an upgrade! - Alan cnosil and cksurfdude

StrokerAce
Need some advice golf spies! I have room for one more club in my bag. Here's what I've got Driver.... 9.5*....................~240 yards Fairway wood.... 15.5*.....~225 yards Hybrid.... 21*....................~200 yards - - - (4 degrees of difference between irons) 5i...(23*)............~180 yards 6i ~ 170 7i ~ 160 8i ~ 150 9i ~ 135 PW...(45*)..............~115 GW...(50*).............~100 SW...(54*).............~85 LW...(58*).............~75 As you can see I've got a 6 degree loft difference between Driver and Fairway wood and a 5 and a half degree difference between Fairway wood and hybrid. I'm thinking either - 18* club to fit between the hybrid and fairway wood - 13* club to fit between driver and fairway wood - 60* wedge What would you choose? HighFade
When I look at that, the gap I see is between the hybrid and the 5 iron. With the longer clubs you don't need the gaps to be so small. Instead of looking at lofts, try writing down the average distances for each stick. Maybe that will identify the needs. cksurfdude and StrokerAce 2 Quote There is no spoon. Shankster
I personally would go with a 17°/18° club. Could give you multiple options. Long approaches or off the tee in wind. Like the Ping crossover or something similar. But that depends on your yardage gap between your 5 iron and Hybrid. MDGolfHacker
LOL, was just down in Fl and they still had snowbird pricing at a few courses I wanted to play. Gotta plan it better next year. MDGolfHacker Started my march to finding replacements for the current equipment in the bag. Hit a Titleist demo day yesterday. Kept an open mind and hit almost everything that I could (being a lefty sometimes these demo days are the only times I can demo clubs). I was leaning towards AP2 for irons, but surprisingly liked the AP1's. While not as buttery smooth like my Mizuno MP-57's, they didn't have the harsh feel of a cast club, plus they were definitely a club longer than the comparable AP2 (due to the stronger lofts) and my own MP-57's. Loved the 917 driver/FWW/hybrids but wasn't as excited for the SM6 after hitting them (I currently bag the original SM's). What really got my attention was the T-MB 2 iron. It felt awesome and I was able to consistently hit it out there (for me anyways). So now that's on my ponder list but at ~$200 a club, it would probably place it out of my budget. Onto next week's demo day that has Mizuno, Cleveland and Srixon and then a few weeks later Callaway, at which point I'll make a decision for a bag redo...
