What equipment are you thinking about?

Trying to buy my game this year!! I know, lessons are a better investment but buying stuff is way more fun! Only my driver and putter will stay the same ... so far. Upgraded to srixon 765/965 irons from 710 ap2s, new Cleveland wedges, new cobra baffler f6 and a rangefinder. I've got a Callaway dbd 816 driver which I might switch out for the new ping driver in aug/sept if I like it. I've got a Scotty golo that should be sticking around for a while still.

im thinking about buying the Macgregor PCB's. Trying to decide on the PCB's or the PCB Tours though. Since the Tours are harder to find, and my ball striking isnt as good as it was 15 years ago, I will probably purchase the regular PCB's. But having a set of Miura forged PCB Tours sure would be nice!

I'd check out the Cobra King LTD. compact blade just like the Wilsons. And they are f'n amazing. Just ask Rickie. I hit them in a shop and it's like that stuffed animal claw thing at the arcade. You just keep going back. And they come in south paw. Worth a look Gents. And Mr. (alfred480) has a lefty set that he loves. Hit him up to see what he has to say. I bet you won't be displeased with them.

I have my mind made up on two sets of irons, i200 or Steelhead XR Pro. However, since we're in the process of buying our first home, those will be on the back burner for a bit.

I had PCB's about 15 years ago and just didn't like them. I don't know if it was the shaft the forging or both, just never got that sweet Forged feel with them. Just felt kind of dead.

 

I'd hold out for the PCB Tours as, like you said, they are supposedly Miura forged. I recently saw a set on the bay recently that looked to be in pretty nice shape.

I third that! It's so difficult sometimes to find lefty stuff with the limited selection. I have been struggling to find a putter, been using the same putter for the last 17 years. Lol

I was hitting balls next to a guy who has an Epic. He's playing on the Hooters tour this year and was prepping for it.

 

If Callaway would guarantee that I could hit it like him I'd be all in.

 

Seriously I'm in search of a usable fairway wood. I just got a great deal on a used SCOR so everything is now in place for the 2 nearly useless ones to be replaced by one that I like and for me to be able to stop having to manufacture shots with my bottom two wedges.

Also! Just bought a clicgear 3.5+. Anyone else on here recently make the switch from carrying to pushing? Hoping it fixes my late round collapses.

Love my Clicgear, and my back will thank me in 25 years. I am definitely less fatigued late in the round, and I can carry more stuff (read beer) in the bag without having to worry about hoofing it.

Need some advice golf spies!

 

I have room for one more club in my bag.

Here's what I've got

 

Driver.... 9.5*....................~240 yards

Fairway wood.... 15.5*.....~225 yards

Hybrid.... 21*....................~200 yards

- - - (4 degrees of difference between irons)

5i...(23*)............~180 yards

6i ~ 170

7i ~ 160

8i ~ 150

9i ~ 135

PW...(45*)..............~115

GW...(50*).............~100

SW...(54*).............~85

LW...(58*).............~75

 

As you can see I've got a 6 degree loft difference between Driver and Fairway wood and a 5 and a half degree difference between Fairway wood and hybrid.

 

I'm thinking either

- 18* club to fit between the hybrid and fairway wood

- 13* club to fit between driver and fairway wood

- 60* wedge

 

What would you choose?

Honestly I don't see a need for anything. You could add a specialty club like a chipper or something.

I have been playing a Callaway FT5 Driver off & on for 15 years...it's still the best of my arsenal. I can't help but think I'm missing out on some new technology. I'll be in the Driver market again soon. Callaway Epic& Taylormade look great & I used to hit a Mizuno Driver that was killer. I'm just waiting for the weather to break for good!

Glad you liked it! Great driver. I need to figure out my swing but I really like it so far. I hear you on the expensive afternoon though.

I did....haha. Budgetgolf didn't have any 14 way so I got a 4 way too. Still has the full length dividers so I'm hoping that it works better than my Callaway stand bag
