Same here. I was on our Callaway ordering site yesterday. And it was all I could do to keep from ordering the No. 7!

It has become clear to me in the last few months that I have a big gap that needs to be addressed - 4i has become so unreliable. I need something between 3H and 5i. When I have a 185-190 shot I have no idea what to do.

I've been interested in trying a mallet for the past few seasons and this one is one of the first that really looked good to my eye after hitting at GG.  Even though I don't struggle majorly with alignment, it couldn't hurt.

 

The major thing I'm interested in is the distance control and gear effect that the putter has been said assist with.  

 

Putting has always been my major problem.  My handicap seems to be inching its way up due to less play, and having 33-34 putts per round certainly isn't helping me.

I'm with Cnosil on the Whys. If your wanting general thoughts on Evnroll, I love my ER2 and find it way easier to lineup than anything else I have ever used or that is on the market.

So you struggle with distance control. Is that because you don't make the right length swing or because you mishit the ball? Do you start the ball on you intended line?

 

33/34 putts a resound may not be bad. How many 3 putts a round? How many putts per GIR and how many on missed greens? How many greens do you hit per round?

Do you play a mallet now? I tried to switch to mallet because I always liked the way they look, but I couldn't actually align them when I would play. If you're struggling with distance control on long putts, your putter might just be too heavy in the head. In any case, get a proper fitting if you can. No one around me fits them, but after a lot of e-mails with Justin from Evnroll, we dialed something in for me and I'm loving it.

That was my problem with my 20* Srixon Zu45. Rocket ship off the tee but just too low off the fairway. Loving the 23* though.

I tend to hit a good amount of greens per round but find that my distance to pin is definitely pretty far. Maybe 40-45 ft if I'm guessing. I probably have 2 or 3 three putts per round.

 

It's usually just misjudging the distance and hitting it 8 - 10 ft passed the hole. Really I just need to do more distance control drills. Thanks for helping me get a clear mind on the real issue. Which as usual is me.

You might be right about it being a bit heavy. I've added a counterbalance grip which only made it heavier. I mark my ball on intended line so starting on my intended alignment isn't a huge issue. If anything I line up a bit to the left but distance control is definitely my main issue. I think I'm getting wrapped up in everything I'm hearing about it.

 

My current putter is fitted to loft and lie but nothing much else. Maybe I try getting something more in depth and see what happens. Appreciate the advice

Hopefully I find something I like in the 210 carry range. Hybrid or 5w, just need something as consistent off of a tee as it is off a bare lie.

No magic in the 818, just not really able to hit hybrids. Once I grabbed a wood, flushed it all day, but it rolls out too much. Was carrying it 220 rolling out 240 on trackman with the 16.5* -- I need like a 20* fw or something
