No magic in the 818, just not really able to hit hybrids. Once I grabbed a wood, flushed it all day, but it rolls out too much. Was carrying it 220 rolling out 240 on trackman with the 16.5* -- I need like a 20* fw or something

Yeah, I moreso wanted to confirm my theory that I'm better with a fairway wood than a hybrid and I did. Haven't hit every hybrid out there, but every OEM's 3 or 5 wood always outshines it at demo days. Maybe I need to be like Michelle Wie and carry up to an 11 wood

I'd be stoked to get $250. I had it refinished and custom paint fill. My buddy made a comment about the ping sound off the face now I can't shake it.

Really jonesing for the new Hogan Edge irons. I used to play Apex Edge Pros and loved them. The feel, the response and control. Very soft forging. But the price was that they got dinged up a lot. Even catching a larger lump of sand in a blinker could leave a gouge in the club face. Hope the new version is as responsive but also a bit more sturdy.

After time at Golf Galaxy today I am pretty sure I need a new putter. I really liked a complete different neck style than I use currently and it needs to be 1 inch shorter maybe 2 depending on the head of the club.

A putter. High MOI putters get in my head and I usually stab or blast them through the line. I'd love to try a 2ball Fang S to see if the optics may change that. The other that I'm thinking is a Sigma G Tyne H since it has stronger semblance to a blade for being a mallet style.

I'm jonesing for a stand bag. I got a nice cart bag from the in-laws last Christmas. It is very nice, however it is heavy as heck to carry on a course walk. I'm not sure if I want a push cart as I do enjoy the actual act of carrying the clubs, not just the walk.

Back in the day, you would always see guys with 3,5,7,9,11 woods at the course, I knew some guys that carried all of them. It worked then, it should still work today

Even after the putter test, you still don't know??  That's scary!

I will be honest, none of the putter really fit my stroke. There were some nice putters but none that I would game over my current putter. I like the Evnroll putters but I really prefer a black putter, want a sight dot, and don't want a mallet. I am very particular about what putters i will game.

  • 2 weeks later...

I stopped by Dicks last evening and rolled the Tommy Armour Impact Series #3 Alignment CB Putter.  It's 38 inches long so I pressed the grip against my left arm and used my claw grip.  I was rolling the ball exceptionally straight with a back and through motion. Yea I am in serious ponder mode.  ;)

Driving iron... MP Fli-Hi seems to be the most practical.

New league course has a few tight / long-ish par 4's so a DI seems optimal in these cases.

I need wedges and driver this season. Excited for the forum testing so far as I think it'll help give me some direction as to what to look at!

A Proper fitting goes a long way! I was amazed when every potential driver I thought I would be taking home that day, was not leaving the store with me. It wound up being a Callaway fusion with a well paired shaft, that was lightly used and a fraction of the cost($200 out the door with a new grip and head over+tool) of the newer $500 drivers I was only hitting 10 yards further, but with unreliable dispersion. That's just my case. But it opened my eyes to a lot, and killed off a lot of my expectations I've built up researching drivers for months on end this winter trying to find my perfect one for this Summer. Best of luck on your hunt though! Hope this helps guide you to the right driver for you

I'm looking at either an Evnroll ER8 or Odyssey EXO Rossie S. I love how companies are now offering mallets with toe hang. They are perfect for those of us with arcing strokes that still like the stability of a mallet for shorter putts. I just wish the EXO putters had been out early enough to be included in the Most Wanted Testing.

Driver: TS3, 9* (C1 setting, surefit cartridge in fade setting)

3/4 Wood: 917D2, 16.5 degrees (D1 setting, surefit cartridge neutral)

Hybrid: Titleist 818 H2, 19 degrees (C3 setting, surefit cartridge neutral)

Wedges: Mizuno S-18 50, 54, and 58 degrees. 50 is 1 degree upright, 54 and 58 are standard lie. Nippon Modus 120x, soft stepped in the 54 and 58.
