GolfSpy MPR
Not so much something I'm thinking about, but something my son is convinced I need to buy him: this box set of Rickie Fowler clubs. I'd love nothing more than to do it, but I'll be honest: it's hard to do it (at $200) when he leaves his clubs around the yard, occasionally drags them across asphalt, etc. Maybe when he's 8, not 5 :-) josmi15, StrokerAce, russtopherb and 3 others 6 Quote TS3 9.5°, Tensei Blue CBX T3 15°, Project X HZRDUS Black Epic Super Hybrid 18°, Aerotech Steel Fiber FC HYB S C722 21°, Ventus Blue 8S CBX Iron-Wood 25°, Project X HZRDUS Black 6.0 639 CB, Aldila NV 95 Graphite, 6–PW CBX 48° T22 54° and 60° EAS 4.0, Garsen G-Pro grip TP5x and Tour Response Full WITB with pictures
RoverRick
Shafts for my irons. I don't have to buy any, because I have 6 different sets. I fortunately had 6 different 8 iron heads also, so tomorrow I am going to the range and then the course and playing all of them. I just installed a set of XP95's in my gamer MP64's this year. I did this in preparation of returning to golf. But I have MP33's on C Tapers that I hit on the range. My thoughts are that first these are old heads and it will not hurt them to pound range balls. However, because I had to change to the 4MM swings, I suddenly went from a low ball hitter to a high ball hitter. I noticed this weekend that hitting the MP33 7 iron on the C Tapers vs the MP64 7 on the XP95 I was at least a half club shorter. So I decided to test these on the course. Then, I noticed I had all these other heads and shafts with grips on them already to go in 8 iron, so, I now have a test to perform. C Tapers vs C Taper Lites vs PX vs DG S300 vs XP95 vs KBS Tour all 8 irons. Mostly blades but shouldn't make a difference in the short irons. Peaksy68
I'm booked in at at Mizuno demo day on 4th July. I'll look closely at the JPX 900 Tour and Forged, and the MP18 MMC and SC. If I get time I'll have a hit of the drivers and fairways, but irons are the priority. I'm also considering buying a cheap old set of Hogan irons to pull the shafts if I can get hold of a set of Apex 4 shafts cheap enough, just to experiment with.
