What equipment are you thinking about?

If you are looking at the i210's don't over look the iBlades. They are more along the lines of the MP-18's and JPX Tours than the i210's.

Good point, thanks. I normally don't consider myself a good enough ball striker to play blades but I suppose that the iBlades have a little more tech than normal blades.

Obviously the “get fit” thing will come up. And I see you are one of our younger members. I think you out of anyone would benefit from lessons and fitting the most. And I mean that in a good way.

Just my thoughts on that. All it takes is patience and practice to become a good ball striker.

Yes, I agree. I have promised myself that I will never get clubs OTR again. I have tried lessons with a few pros but all wanted me to have a "cookie cutter" swing. I don't have a "normal" swing and don't think trying to create one is how I will play my best golf. I have a shoulder turn to about 115 degrees and all of the pros have really tried to shorten that.

I have been working on it myself and have lowered my handicap by about 8 this year so far. Thanks for the advice.

The Bubba approach. That's the route I took. I won't say not to do that for sure, just make sure it is right for you. It sounds like you love the game, keep at it!

I'm thinking about maybe moving on from my X2Hot hybrid and getting something with a larger head that's a bit more forgiving. I have no issues hitting my Heavenwood, so maybe a bigger headed hybo will finally give me some confidence and help move me out of Hook City.

A more forgiving hybrid without draw bias would be tough. Better off looking at a 5 wood

And that's one of the biggest issues I've had with hybrids for years. I've even thought about getting an adjustable 24* and lofting it down to see if that helped.

Why not a utility iron? Do you hit your long irons well?

He mentioned he wanted something more forgiving than his current hybrid

Yup, I need something I can hit off the turf on par 5s or as a tee club for tighter par 4s. Plus with a mid 90's driver swing speed, I'm a bit worried about not being able to really elevate a driving iron.

+1 for the utility club. That should get rid of the hook bias.

There are some pretty forgiving ones like the Ping G400 Crossover and Cobra Utility.

Maybe wait for those new GAPR's to come out. The Mid or the High might be your golden ticket.

I believe that Callaway's Apex Pro hybrids had a neutral to fade bias if I remember correctly.

You could try the Launcher HB 4 iron. Plays like an iron but gets up like a hybrid. No draw bias but I can't remember the loft on it. The other option I use is the Cobra single length 3H. Straightest club I have and if you've seen my swing that is saying something.

And, how much forgiveness do you need? Where is your miss on the club-face?

He reviewed the Wilson c300s and felt he needed more forgiveness.

I know... honestly I think it's more mental than anything else at this point.

I should just stick with choking up on my Heavenwood when needed, and keep the 4i in the bag for punchouts and tee shots.

If you hit your 7 iron straight you will hit the Cobra single length 3H straight.

First time in over a year I hit a G400 and had 160+ ball speed, over 108mph swing speed, carry average of over 275, and had a dispersion of 30 yards (NO HOOKS).... Very interesting. The KZG got beat today... That's a first. That TPT shaft is legit, once they find you the right one. Well, and I finally start to swing like my coach is teaching me to!!!!

Like another Vokey at 51 degrees to close wedge gap.

Putter shopped today but bsck was killing me after getting buddies broken down truck home. Pointless to buy after that. Assistsnt pro tonight showed me an Itsy Bitsy in excellent shape. Hit it well but will try agsin tomorrow. 70 bucks is what I think i can get it for. Really hoped the Sigma G woukd feel better for me than what it did.

Reshaft my hybrids to stiff or maybe xstiff.

Carry bsg for excercise.
