ole gray
I ran by Dicks today and hit a few shots in the bay with with the regular and max TA Atomic Irons. I was impressed to say the least as they felt solid. Forged head and wider bounce makes these fun clubs to hit. The regular are longer than my recently picked up Cobra F- Max irons by a several yards and the Max are freaking cannons! Yea I left DSG today thinking about these puppies. Don't overlook these irons just because they are not famous as the big boys. Targetdrone
I would have pulled the trigger on a set of Mizuno MP-62 irons on Ebay today, but I decided I was not at the point of "forgiving blades" quite yet as I just got back into the game after a decade away. Although the set sold cheap, I had just won a set of JPX-825 5-pw irons an hour earlier and even I would have a hard time explaining that to SWMBO. I only paid $88 shipped so I feel like I got a deal. FWIW, I learned on blades in the early '90s. Perhaps in the not too distant future I will get to hit a set of player's clubs and gauge if they could help my scores. Siamese Moose
I've hit a number of the new drivers, and have found a good fit with the 410 and F9. Neither is a big advantage over my now "near vintage" Wishon, at least on good strikes, but both offer some greater forgiveness. For either one I want a 44.5" length (I'm short!). I recently found out Cobra offers the F9 in a "Tour Length", namely 1" short, or, you guessed it, 44.5"! It comes with heavier weights, 18 and 6 grams, vs, 14 and 2, than standard. If I knew for sure what shaft, I would have already ordered, but my fitter does not have a test head with these weights. He's sent his Cobra rep a message, but now two weeks on has not heard back.
