They’re pretty special irons, Rick. If you ever have any questions about them, don’t hesitate to PM me.

I sold @cksurfdudeso hard on them you’d think I was getting a commission. It sounds like he loves his as much as I do mine!

The Srixons can help a bit if shots are very slightly on the fat side, but probably won't make that much of a difference if you tend to hit super fat.

Not golf related this time. Who here has a good baseball glove?

Mine is really worn down and my son is getting to the age where we can actually play catch. Figure I should get a good one now that should last me the rest of my life.

I’ve been looking at the Rawlings Heart of the Hide and Wilson A2000 lines. It’s a little more difficult To find lefty stuff to try, but I have seen a few sales on “prior year styles” although besides the leather color they don’t really change much.

Wilson A2000 is the gold standard these days it seems. Exceptional quality and functional practicality. Nothing fancy, simple and well made. I have a Zett Custom from my playing days back in the 90’s. Wilson and Rawlings tend to be a little stiffer and require more breaking-in initially than Zett, Nocona, or Mizuno. At least that’s been my experience.

Seems us lefties don’t have many options for “utility” gloves. I don’t really need a 12.5-13 inch outfield glove, but I don’t really love “pitchers” gloves because my understanding is they have less padding and have more basic padding and web options.

I’ve seen a few good deals on some Rawlings Heart of the Hide and Pro Preferred. Not as many on A2000s. I’ll keep my eyes out.

So I recently took part in a DSG focus group and got a $125 gift card for participating in it. Add that to the some birthday money I stashed away for some gear, it’s time to finally spoil myself. It’s been over a year since I have actually purchased any new golf gear do I think it’s time. I mean I have been good and waited long enough, right?
-New bag? Looking maybe a stand bag to replace a old used one I was given years ago.
-New shoes? Could go with new spiked shoes, my Nike Roshe spikeless are practically new.
-New driver? Thinking about moving on from my TM M2 Dtype

Great problems to have I guess!

Baseball was my primary sport growing up.  I was either playing or training year round from an early age.  Got burnout unfortunately, but that happens.

Anyways, my dad bought me a Nokona that still looks great to this day.  It's going to be similar pricing to the two you listed, but I remember mine keeping it's color and softness more than my teammates gloves.  Keep in mind this was 20 years ago so they could have went downhill, but mine will last me a lifetime and I'll likely pass down to my son (only 2 y/o now) should he take up the game.

They don’t change. I could pull out anything I played with from 10-15 years ago and you couldn’t tell. If you’re just playing catch you don’t need anything special, a new premium glove with cost you plus take a month to break in. Just go to dicks a get something under $100.

My middle infield glove was Nokona! I agree it was premium, the pocket is a little more shallow though. Everyday catch might not be the best fit for that one.

I’m not one to change equipment very often but it’s time. I’ve been testing some demos with the help of the PGA Professional at my home club for 3 weeks now.

I have absolutely fallen in love with the i210 irons. Trying to zero in on the right shaft. It’s looking like DG 120 S300 is going to be the winner. We’ve tested everything.

My first irons were Tommy Armour 845. I played them from age 11 until buying a set of Eye 2 at about age 19. Then played nothing but Ping until right around age 40. I didn’t even realized I missed Ping and Dynamic Gold until that first strike with the i210. That old familiar feeling was like finding a $20 bill in some old jeans in the back of the closet.

The familiar ball flight and spin numbers with the traditional lofts is something I didn’t realize I missed either. I probably hit 50 balls Friday with the 7 iron. You could have thrown a blanket over 47 of them! Distance was a consistent 156 yards and average distance from the centerline was a foot.

Waiting for the weather to break to dive into a wedge fitting before placing the order.

i was always a rawlings guy. i’ve still got my personalized pro preferred HOH that i got my sophomore year of high school. it’s in great shape with just a little cracking along the bindings. i found a guy who is gonna restore it for me so my son can use it one day.

also have the gold label HOH i used in college. that one still looks brand new.

good luck with the new leather!

I was always a Rawlings guy too.  I made a couple trips to the Rawlings outlet in Reading, PA back in the 70's.  I still remember the leather smell as you entered that shop and the gloves they had on the back wall.  Those gloves lasted me a long time.

That's a fantastic looking glove, good luck with breaking it in. I have a Worth model sitting in my basement that was made in the same factory as the HoHs and with same materials. Still not broken in fully, though I can't remember the last time I played catch!

I never was one for caring about gloves when I played, but once I started coaching I got more into them. I have a couple nice 11.5" models sitting in my basement, including a fun Venezuelan-made one from a company called Tamanaco. Very soft and light cowhide, not sure how it would hold up to daily use, but a cool glove nonetheless.

That sounds pretty cool and unique. There isn’t as much fun to be had with lefties. I finally feel the pain that golfers who stand on the other side of the ball feel.

I was looking up the details of my old glove and it was a pitchers model. Who knew. I played from 13 year old up through high school with a pitchers glove in the outfield. 😂

thinking of adding the old 3W back into the bag ... I had an old TM superfast burner 3w which I loved but started to not swing it well and took it out for a 5W which I love but I am just missing some distances and have some other Gapping issues might go Driver 3W, 5W, 3H then 5I - GW .. Looking at the Cobra F9 or the newer ones for the 3W since I love the Cobra f9 5w ...

Took my favorite (only) daughter to kill a couple hours at the mall and explore the new Dicks sports. It’s ridiculously nice with three fitting bays and a diverse array of clubs.

I went to the putting green with my helper and tried the 2ball ten and the Phantom 2021 line.

I really liked the 2ball but liked the 11.5 even better. I was ready to pull the trigger but the only 35” had scratches along the top. I couldn’t get over that for a new club.

Super nice feel and great aesthetic. I am doing my best to use some restraint.

Pictured is the 11.0 with the higher bend face balanced putter.  I couldn't get it to to track, tendency was to stay left which makes sense.

I really want to get a rapsodo launch monitor. Now that they can do indoor metrics I think it’s the best one. I have the prpg but it’s just consistent in picking up the ball. Hopefully I’ll get a few bonuses this year and can pick one up

Shopping for the wife this time, not me. I'm personally still on a pretty firm "no new purchases" for the rest of the season. Curious for some thoughts from everyone here...

Wife hasn't played in three years due to shoulder surgery. Before the surgery we used to play an executive course that was short enough that she didn't need a driver. That course closed and so now we're going to be playing where I usually do, so she's going to need a driver, a 56 degree wedge and maybe something like a 5 wood.

She's currently gaming a set of Cobra S3 hybrids and irons that she was "fit" for in 2012. NV-3 graphite shafts, regular flex. We have 3H (20 degrees)-GW (49). When she was fit back in 2012 her mid-iron swing speed was high 70s. I put her on the Mevo last weekend at the range and that's fallen some to about a 70 MPH 7 iron (though I would expect as she gets her confidence back it will come up a few). Long and deliberate swing. She has issues elevating the ball, I'm working with her on that currently.

Anyway, looking at driver and wedge options. Looking to spend between $200-$300 for a driver, and would prefer to spend no more than $120-$130 for a wedge. No brand preference (though she said she would prefer not Callaway), so here's what I'm looking at:

Drivers (probably looking for 12 degree models) - Ping (G400 SFT, G410 SFT, G410 Plus), Cobra (SpeedZone Xtreme), Tour Edge (EXS or EXS 220). Going to be looking for SR/A flex or Regular flex, I think she'd be fine with either.

Wedges - I can get a brand new women's CBX wedge for a bargain off eBay, but I'm afraid the shaft will be a little short/lite compared to her irons. Still could swap the shaft and grip and be set for less than $100. Otherwise looking at Sub70 options? I know I could build a Maltby for cheaper but I think the CBX would be good for her. Could also bump up to $150 and get the CBX2 with the stock Rotex graphite.

Any suggestions for something else that I'm overlooking? Especially with driver?

For drivers look at cobra f9. Might be able to get that less. 2016/17 m2 or the m6. The pxg 0211 is $239 brand new. With shipping and tax should come out to under if you stay stock setup. They have the aldlila nv shaft as stock along with the Px riptide

wedges look for sm7 or sm6 as well. 2nd swing used to have like new sm7 cheap.
