I had thought about going armlock as well, but this new putter grip i have that has a 100 gram at the very bottom of the grip is life changing.

Color me intrigued. What grip is it?

Flat Cat Solution. Its different than what i will call a standard heavy counterbalanced grip. That metal thing at the bottom is a 100 gram weight, concentrated at the very bottom of the grip. In my mind, it feels different than a heavy grip where the weight is distributed throughout, or from a grip where there is a counterbalance weight at the very butt end of the grip/shaft. Smoothed out my putting stroke so I don't hit at the ball anymore, which has made my lag putting distance control better. Also less yippy on short putts.

May have to pick up their pistol solution and give it a try. I think this may be a way to trick swing weight as well!

I am going to put it on the swingweight scale later today, i have a basic one lying around. I'm predicting that the swingweight scale will show it as being light, because i think swingweight is measured as the balance 14" down the shaft. So given the weight is around 11 or 12" down the shaft, its on the grip side of the balance point.

However, given the weight is underneath where hands are placed on the grip, it makes the area under the hands feel heavier (i equate that feel as head feeling heavier) without actually adding mass to the putter head.

The testing opportunity for sub70 has me thinking about hybrids. Not sure I 100% like the shaping of that one though. Might need to go hit some soon. And I still want to hit the Radspeed fairway to see if I consider it an upgrade to the Speedzone fairway (purely for the infinity face).

I volunteer at my local LPGA tournament as a walking scorer and it is always interesting seeing their bags full of head overs and it is amazing to watch how much control they have hitting them into greens.

Putters are still on the brain. The discussion on armlock as gotten me trying armlock putters which I have concluded isn’t for me; too much forward lead and can’t seem to get in a comfortable setup posture. I tried the Evnroll Midlock in different lengths and this style is better with less forward press but still not perfect. Switched to left hand low and the gap between my left wrist and the grip seems pretty narrow so I may try the superstroke wrist lock grip on a new putter. Saw some interesting putters on eBay and I contacted the putter maker and we are discussion making a mini putter. Always like the look of minis, but the practical side is saying maybe beef it up a bit and get something between a mini and a short blade length.

Going to be a fun experiment.

If you're still in the hunt for a hybrid without the draw bias, I'd look at the TS3.  It has come down in price with the TSi hybrids, has no draw bias, and adjustable to really dial in loft and lie...highly recommend.

Of course, you could always spring for the newer release from Titleist that has the same properties, just different weight system and heftier price tag.

100% will try the Titleist hybrids.  I even had the old 818h1 that I liked a lot before getting the Speedzone.  I know the H2 was even more fade biased... but I prefer the rounded shape of the H1 in them.  With the flip-able weight and hosel adjustments that was enough to keep me from overcooking them.

The only thing I'll have reservations about is I'm kind of a big believer in Cobra's rails on the sole now.  My contact with the fairway and hybrid were unusually crisp last year.  Just need to keep the hybrid from overturning.  OR you know... maybe I need to get a lesson.  That could be it too! haha

Does considering Pinemeadow irons with graphite shafts count as thinking about it? I know I can buy

lots of other irons for the same $300 but I'm not really very good yet and I want something that

is more reasonable in price.

If you're not stuck on Pinemeadow and are open to used clubs (and maybe lightweight steel instead of graphite), I'd recommend looking around a bit. Used clubs from big name OEMs will likely be better quality, and they'll have at least a bit of resale value when you're ready to bump up to something better/newer when you improve.

Not saying you have to order from 2nd Swing, but this link has a bunch of iron sets in between $200-$400: https://www.2ndswing.com/search.aspx?SearchTerm=all&sortField=Highest Price&facet=Department:club,CategoryID:golf-irons-and-iron-sets,PriceRange:6,PriceRange:7,Condition:1

Need to replace Irons but the $1200+ price tag is out of line. Taking a trip to Chicago and going to Sub 70 to give them a swing. I’m hoping they play as advertised ( great TXG review). I’ll game them and it will be a unique set in my group. Love to help the small independents where I can!

I am looking at new irons and the Sub70 699pros look like they could be a fit.  I like that they can send you demos before you buy.  Anyone else done that yet?

Iirc she has driver 3,5,7,11 the 6-p. Don’t recall the wedges but from what I remember it was 3 wedges

Basically, like I have mine setup with the 9 swapped for the 11.  Wonder how that gaps with the 7wd.  I might consider giving that a look since the gap in my bag is between 9wd and 6i.

WITB:

Taylormade SIM2 Max 9° w/ UST ProForce V2 5F3 @ 45"

Callaway Epic Speed 4wd w/ AccuFLEX Evolution Reg

Cleveland RTX Zipcore 54/10 w/ Recoil 95 F4 shaft

Cleveland RTX-4 58/03 w/ Recoil 95 F4 9i shaft

Pondering:

Well the 16.5* Callaway Mavrik that was swiped by SWMBO doesn't look like it will be a free agent any time soon so I have to start looking for another 3 or 4 wood for my own use.  There is a serious yardage gap between the driver and the 18* hybrid that needs to be filled.

I thought I read that Wie is carrying an 11wd.  Does she also carry a bybrid?

... She carried several but you are right, she is all fairway woods now. 3, 5, 7 and 11. Lowest iron is a 6 which I find mind boggling.

The gap will vary by individual based on speed and club delivery. Two people with same speed but different delivery of the club will see different flight and yardage numbers.

If we keep all things equal 1* of loft is ~2-3yards.
