What equipment are you thinking about?

With my current ball striking… those 620 MB/CB combo set really look nice…

I may need to get rid of the internet, I always get these crazy ideas.  Pretty sure I need a TS4/TSi4 driver, and a matching 3 wood….

Really need to get a job in the golf business too so I can “attempt” a PAT… who wouldn’t want to have a pro named Shanks at their course/fitting center/etc… it’s going to happen… probably not.

But if it did, I would definitely put “Shankster” on the bag.

I put the TM SIM 2 MAX 9 degree Driver into the bag last week, and let me tell you.. that thing is a weapon! The sound it makes with good contact parlayed with the speed it comes off the face with is noticeably better than the TS3 I was using before. Not knocking the TS3, I love that club but the SIM 2 just feels different. Highly reccomend 👍🏻

I came into the thread to talk about Jumbo max grips and then I see my name was mentioned lol.

I’ve seen them around quite a bit lately and they are definitely “purty”!  Are they that much better I’m not sure.  I talked to 2 guys who had full bag and they love them but couldn’t really say if they were an improvement.  There is a PXG Fitting Van here at least once a month and I’ve been think about it.
BUT I hit the T300 irons a while ago and frankly I’m kinda liking them…a lot.

I waited and waited for the new T300’s to be revealed, and when MGS said they were offering a chance to review them, I submitted my name for the first time since I’ve been on this site.

Alas, it wasn’t meant to be, but the itch to try new and shiny irons was rekindled, and it looks like the 0311 XF’s will be the ones to scratch that itch.

I was able to get a quote even better than the PXG site. Still $89 per club with the MMT shaft, but no tax and no $60 shipping. I have the online order form all filled out, but I’m still pondering. (which only means I haven’t gotten around to clicking “place order” yet)

So who am I kidding, it’s gonna happen… 😵💫

I feel you, dlow… the T300’s are the only thing keeping me from placing my order. I’m torn here between the two.

The PXGs will only cost a total of $623 though, which is about $400 less, and I’ll have the 30 day playability with the 0311’s. Even if I don’t like them I can send them back and only be out $100 after playing them a month.

BTW enjoy the T300’s!!! Maybe do an unofficial review, since we only had one tester choose them?

Still pondering MMTs in my irons/wedges. I saw a post by Mizuno on IG that I can't find anymore, where someone asked them if they had plans to offer MMTs and they didn't say "no"

Would be cool if they offered it in their line because it would probably mean you could demo them, or the optimizer could potentially recommend them

It rained like crazy here today, so I took an hour drive down to the nearest PXG fitter in my area. I’m glad I did… the 0311’s have been removed from the cart.😉

He didn’t have any Gen2 0311XF heads available, but after seeing me hit my Rogue X, he told me to keep them, because I’d probably lose 10 yards per club with the XF’s.

I did hit the T300’s, but I averaged 138 carry, 142 total. The Rogue X were 143, 148. Ball flight was higher with the T300 but the dispersion was slightly better with the Rogue X.

I love the Tensei Red shaft in the Titleist, and I think the dispersion might be due to my familiarity with the Rogues? That said, I don’t think the Titleist are worth spending 1K for, they would only be a vanity purchase.

He gave me a nice heads up though, confirming he’d heard what I had, that Callaway is bringing back a new version of the Rogue line in January. I’ll probably check out the new Launcher irons when they’re out, but won’t buy anything until I see the new Rogues.

All of the Youtube "stars" are calling them some of the best irons of 2021.  Take that for whatever it's worth.  I've had times where I agree with them and others when I think they must be hitting something completely different.

Hope you enjoy them!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.  @B.Boston, Motore actually beats out Ventus for you?  You had a Blue 6 S right?  A feel thing or better numbers too?

I'm kicking tires on shaft upgrades in my TR20, and am toying with the idea of Ventus Blue..

So here’s 10 rounds of Speedzone/Ventus Blue 6x from March until I got the Epix Max LS:

And here’s the Epic Max LS and Motore X f3 6x combo:

I excluded the one round I had with the Max LS and MMT combo as it was never going to be gaming combo, I just didn’t have anything else to use that day.

Now it’s still early and only 26 drives vs 72, but I just haven’t had any really bad contact with the Max LS and Motore combo. One of the balls to the right clipped a tree on a tight fairway and came right down. And two of the balls on the left were good shots that I’m still just getting used to being able to aim towards the right side of the fairway.  You can see that my dispersion is more left with the Max LS.  What’s interesting is they’re set up basically opposit of what you’d think.  The speedzone was set to +1.5 and the Max LS is set to -1 and the weight it all out in the toe.  It’s been an absolute bomber for me so far.  It’s had generally less side spin and I’ve had more nice tight draws than I remember ever having before.

I’m glad that Rapsodo is in and I can start testing because I need to do some Ventus vs Motore X with good data.  The Ventus has a pleasing feeling at impact that I haven’t felt with any other shaft.  And I really believe the tech works.  Right now it seems like I can just feel smoother with the Motore X and it’s working to keep my in sync where the Ventus might be a touch too stiff.  Honestly besides two range sessions where I was switching around I put the Motore X in there at a flip of the coin to be the starter and it’s just really flat out performed on the course and I’m enjoying the feel of it.

Thanks for the info and it seems like a good combo and I am sure the Rapsodo would be a great tool. Also does this mean with the Max LS you are actually in a single digit loft? Well well well, that's a big change there.

This got me wondering. In my 11 rounds since putting the lighter weight in the Max LS/AF combo, this is what I'm looking at:

image.png.d3c1301a2727bd9c995a11b65f3f38ef.png

image.png.600428dc7dfc3d7f5792e7beade9b16a.png

Moral of my story for anyone looking at the AF - yes, I definitely added some distance and hit the ball better, generally. But I still have some huge misses when I'm off. (Most of those that are way right are from holes 17 and 18 on my home course, where missing that far right is in the opposite fairway and not a bad play.)

I only bought the AutoFlex because I capitalized on the hot COVID market for trading cards that I had accumulated when I was younger. If I had to choose between $800 for the shaft or $800 to put into 8 lessons and a season pass for range balls (about the same), I'd take the lessons and range balls all day.

All of the Youtube "stars" are calling them some of the best irons of 2021.  Take that for whatever it's worth.  I've had times where I agree with them and others when I think they must be hitting something completely different.

Hope you enjoy them!

Although i am taking a gamble based on not trying them first, i think they will be fine. May not be the best fit out of all possible irons on the market, but i generally get along with easy to launch, GI type clubs that are billed as higher launching. Based on what i have read, it is a bit more "GI" than my ZX5s, the T200s would be more of a comp to the ZX5s.
