What equipment are you thinking about?

Their policy is to only stock the newest, current model year, equipment. I personally like to check all my options, not just the shiniest, newest, most expensive possibilities. I would only go to them if I wanted fitting for a brand new set.

Golf Galaxy will have all the inventory from this season, leftovers from previous model years, as well as dozens of pre-owned iron sets. That's where I would go to eye everything.

Thanks that’s great to know. Can you try them out with no pressure?

I guess every store is different, but my Golf Galaxy by the NJ/PA border was very laid back. I went there to try putters and I rolled about 75 putts before a salesman asked if I needed help. I told him I was checking some stuff out on my own and he left me to it.

It was a great spot to find a new putter. I narrowed it down to a short list of 5 or 6 that included a few new models and a few pre-owned ones. After 8-10 putts with each I decided on a pre-owned Sik that was budget friendly.

The short answer is everything, all the time, ha!

The last old club I had to replace was my Sonartec 3 wood. I've tested so many and put many in okay for a while but then would get the bug and test something else.

I've got it down to two setups now. 3 wood + hybrid or a 4 wood + 7 wood just depending which courses I play or what mood I'm in

Not familiar with how that driver is weighted but if it has interchangeable screw weights going up a few grams might be a cheap way to feel the club head, having to do that now on all my woods due to change in driver length from stock to get swingweight back right on my pings'

I’ve never looked into if you can buy a weight kit for the Sim 2’s. Good idea! I know the position of the weight and grams change between the Sim 2, Sim 2 Max, and Sim 2 Max-D but unsure if those are sold separately, but will definitely be looking into it now.

I have been trying to take @chisag's advice and stick to one putter.   Unfortunately, a couple of bad putting rounds has got me thinking about putters.   Saw that KBS has released a now released a graphite putter shaft;  looks like most of the major shaft makers have one in their lineup;  makes me think there might be something to these (or a big money grab).   One thing for sure is they have lots of pretty colors 😍

Color coordinating my entire set would be reserved for windfall money like winning the lottery.

But it would be at the TOP of my list of what to do with said lottery winnings, followed by bringing said color coordinated clubs in my new convertible on the bucket list road trip.

I recently signed up for the Callaway Paradym irons test.  I was able to do an initial test of them at the Northern Virginia golf show and really liked the way they felt.   Although, there is a difference between swinging clubs in a warehouse at a curtain verse swinging them on the course and seeing the complete flight path and turf interaction.

Who here is OCD about having things match in your golf bag? I have a buddy that has to have all of his wedges the same club, all irons the same club, and all woods the same club. He is currently thinking about a PXG driver and fairway wood because his irons are PXG. In my bag, I have three completely different woods and am thinking about a blended iron set and it doesn't bother me at all. I am not married to a brand but am interested to hear how everyone else is.

I fall into the same category as your buddy, for sure.  For me irons have to match brand, grip, shaft, woods, wedges the same as well.  I was 14 club PXG, I am down to 10 PXG and that’s my comfort limit.  Went back to my Scotty Cameron Circa 62 and dropped the PXG forged wedges for the Edison wedges, both trades were great replacements but I love the PXG irons (gen3 T).  May make the move to gen 6, waiting on the delivery of my super select.

I just can’t get there. Mizuno irons have always been better for me than Titleists and Titleist woods have long been better for me than anything on the market. The only reason you go one brand is OCD, it doesn’t make any sense otherwise. I even ditched the Titleist carry bag for a Vessel, because the Vessel is the top of the mountain right now.

I'm thinking about the TEE E721 irons I purchased from their certified pre owned program yesterday.  They won't be here until next week.  I've had a great experience with the C721 driver and 3 wood, also with the iron-wood hybrids in 19* and 22*.  I would like to have a set of irons that are as easy to hit as the iron-wood hybrids.

I'm really getting along with Tour Edge Exotics clubs I own so when I came across these (6-P) on their CPO site with black smoke rdx shafts for less than $50 a club after the vet discount I pulled the trigger.

Super strong lofts on these.  The 6 iron is 24* and the PW is 42*.  I hope they work out.  If they do I'll have to pick up a wedge or keep playing the 48* from the set of irons I'm playing now.  I've made a decision to buy the easiest to hit clubs I can find, at least until I get some sort of rhythm back from not playing for months.  I probably should be playing SGI irons anyway.

We shall see...  Can't beat the price or the 30 day playability buy back.

I always thought I’d have a complete set driver through wedges until the last time I was fitted.  Ended up with Ping G425 woods and hybrid and Callaway Mavrik irons (since changed to Callaway Rogue ST Max after I broke two shafts and a head within a year.  Callaway replaced them for free with a new set of Rogues).  Ping irons were my second choice but I fit better into the Callaways.   And I carry Cleveland wedges other than the PW.

Whatever feels or fits right is where I’m at now.

Sold my boat in February so I’ve been thinking golf and only golf since then.  TEE is discontinued at GG and went on sale there for a very good price, so I bought a set of C722 irons and have been experimenting with them. They have not beaten out my AP3s.  So I did a driver fitting and traded in my Rogue ST Max for a TSR 2 and am eyeing TSR 2 7-wood. The bag is now very fluid.

Wanting to revamp the top end of my bag this year with more woods and hybrids to make things friendlier.  Thinking of swapping my 3/4W, 3H, 4i, 5i out for 5W lofted down, 7W lofted down, and a 5H.  I was messing around with a buddy's srixon 5 and 7 wood and they were stupid easy to hit.  Kind of want to check out the new wilson staff Dynapower lineup.

Mizuno MP 67 4 - PW
Mizuno CLK 21 3-hybrid
Callaway Rogue ST HL 3 wood (4 wood loft)

Callaway Ft-9 Driver (try other stuff, keep going back to it)
Vokey raw finish 50 and 54
Cleveland smart sole 56 bent to 58
Ping Anser 2 copper beryllium or Odyssey 2 ball depending on the day

... Actually thinking about equipment I already have ... the weather has turned here in Phoenix so we have hard and fast fairways again. I put my Sim2 5 wood back in my bag replacing my Sim2 3 and 3HL that have rotated in and out this winter and have been hit or miss. Probably a little too greedy with little roll from any fairway wood and just didn't wanna give up the distance going to my 5 wood. But the shorter shaft and 18* of loft just suit my swing better and I am making better contact and taking better swings with complete confidence.  I am hitting my 5 wood higher with more carry and good roll compared to both my 3 woods. I think I will have to sell both Sim2 3 woods so I won't be tempted to put them back in my bag. 🤪
