I thought this would be a perfect compliment to my net practice, I didn't pick my username because I thought it was cool. I think on days I just hit the board I'll follow what @GolfSpy MPR did with @Kirke and work in trying to hit certain patterns, off toe, heel shot, etc....

This should be fun, although with some of the training aids I've bought this last year I'm starting to feel like Tin Cup.

That's a feature I like, it was too windy today to set up the net so I took it out on the carport and was able to see feedback right away.

Tried it on a driver, but it didn’t work. Going with all oversize Winn Dri-Tac 2.0 on the clubs as soon as they arrive!

Yup. Got a super good deal on one although I paid a little extra for some convenience since I am not a builder and don’t want to take it to a shop bout of the box playability for me. Welcome aboard! Just FYI, a shaft change may be in order for me there to if I can’t figure out how to get some more lift from the deck.

With the new KBS TD driver shaft in the bag, and the order placed for the new irons, I'm now looking into the Diamana Thump 65 shaft for my 3w and 5w that won the day at the fitting. Both of the stock Alta CB shafts in my G400's are stiff flex.  They feel great and I hit them well, but like the fitter did with my driver shaft, he moved me into regular flex and non counter-balanced.  

My issue/concern is that we could not test my G400's with the Thump shaft because they did not have those adapters.  Instead I hit a TSi2 with the Thump against my gamer... so I really don't know how much was the head or shaft producing the ~10 yard gain in carry.  Still thinking my way through my fairway wood options .

Sounds like you need to get the TSi2’s then

Meh... the KBS shaft is still attached to a G410P.  The new irons may or may not be G425's but will have MMT80 shafts. It's possible the 3w and 5w get new appendages, the B61 has experienced an out of body transformation since attending the putter fitting, and no plans to swap out the Sun Mountain bag.

What is standing out is the move away from counter-balance shafts.  None of the shafts selected by my fitter to test were of that design.  Interestingly, I recall him saying PING tends to offer those as stock as their driver and FW heads tend to be on the heavy side (at least I think I got that correct?). Perhaps for the vast majority, they find this weighting most appropriate? 

I'm really not that skookum on how CB design plays into shaft profiles and matching with various head weight. Perhaps one of our Spy Shaft Gurus can tell us a bit more about this.

Went to every golf shop in town this past weekend; hit every iron I had a remote interest in purchasing. Shockingly to me, Titleist did not make the cut down to the final 3. Shout out to Srixon, the z forged blades were some of the best feeling of the bunch, and the Zx7 might be the cream of the players distance crop. But the final 3 are:

If it's anything like the one I used for the fitting, it's going to be something speacial.

I have been holding down the equipment buying shenanigans. For example, custom milled aluminum insert for my Odyssey arm lock putter. Wait, did I ever mentioned that I bought an Odyssey #7 arm lock because I now think arm lock is a good idea? lol
