Short hitter off the tee. Driver is the weakest part of my game. I struggle to get the ball in the air, hit a lot of line drive tee shots, currently play a 12 degree callaway epic(avg driving distance 190yds my 5i goes 180yds). wondering if I would benefit from that mini driver Taylor Made is selling. just wanna get my tee shot 210+ and in bounds, I'm not greedy.

I would say go hit a demo of the mini. I did last year at Golf Galaxy and it told me that it was a good option for me! Love it and it’s still in my bag.

I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

not to be "that guy" but my advice would be to find a teaching pro and use the $ you might use on a new mini driver for a quick lesson. That epic is a good driver and it might be something simple that someone watching you can fix rather quickly.

just a thought from someone who has bought too many different clubs thinking they would be the solution and I end up with the same problem...

you are probably right i've done 4 lessons with a pro and have not seen much improvement, but I might just need to find another pro that suits my game better thanks for the reality check.

In serious need of a new driver, fitted years ago and now after a while I don´t want that weight on my shaft, been playing titleist TS4 X-stiff, I´ll probably end up in ping. Any suggestions?

I finally admitted defeat. After losing my old rangefinder, I bought one a few years ago from shot scope. Honest truth is that I never could trust the distance. It often can't find a pin, struggles with trees and gives 3-4 distances. It finally hit the point of I can't anymore during my last round. On a par 3 I got a distance of 150ish to the front and 150/175/180 towards the pin. Ended up on the green but took 15 seconds of time. Next hole, same sort of problem. 150, 170 , 180. Turns out it was 140. 2 holes later, same deal.

I have been struggling for awhile and decided to get a used bushnell XE off Facebook. Frankly, I just couldn't deal with having to guess the distance and having zero confidence in distances-- especially for irons. I doubt this will be my last purchase but we shall see.

I just got my combo set of the Bridgestone J33 and I love them!! Not nearly as forgiving as my cobra aerojets, but they feel so pure. Definitely going to have to up my game a little bit but ready for the challenge of a players iron set.

Informed my Mizuno JPX 923 Forged irons have shipped and should arrive this week. Can't wait to use them.

Also trying to figure out what I will do for wedges. The gap wedge in the Mizuno set is 49 degrees. I currently have a 56 degree SW, but thinking maybe it is time to do a wedge fitting and figure out if I should go 52, 56, 60 or 54 58.

And also trying to decide what I'll be doing at the other end of the bag. I have a new driver and then my irons. I'm thinking maybe a 5 wood and a 4 hybrid. I'm not sure it is worth carrying a 3 wood but that may help reaching par 5s and also be a nice alternative off the tee on tighter holes.

Been thinking about putting a stability shaft on my putter. Wish I could say I hit perfectly center on every putt and these graphite putter shafts seem to really seem to help with minimizing dispersion when miss hit and who doesn’t want that.

I was part of the Odyssey Ai-ONE test and was quite impressed with off center performance…distance was similar regardless of where on the face the ball was struck.  Compared it to other putters I had around and the Odyssey performed much better.

Definitely post some comparison numbers to show if it does or doesn't help with off center dispersion.

My buddy who always hooks me up with good golf products has a Titleist U505 2-iron with a graphite design AD-DI 6S shaft in it. I'm currently gaming a G425 Crossover 2-iron, but I had to pull the trigger on this new one. I'm hoping that this shaft will be a better fit for me; I believe my current one is slightly too stiff for my swing. Should be shipping out this week so I'm pumped to try it out!

My smart watch has recently died, so I'm currently weighing up my options for a replacement one that's also more golf focussed. The Garmin test last year absolutely makes that one look very tempting, but not sure if that's quite in the budget currently. The Shot Scope V5 looks quite good, and I've just gotten an email about a new Voice Caddie watch too, so I've got a bit of researching to do.

I also need a new putter stand because I might have a slight obsession and have run out of room in the current one 😂

Less expensive option is this as a driver replacement. Its long and low spinning.
