They are. The Red was probably their swan song for better player type hybrids. Very well respected.

Will do. GlobalGolf has some in "very good" condition in stock, and I have always heard Adams hybrids are the bees knees.

The Red is solid as are the last Pro models. I have a bunch in the basement that I have played over the years.

I just bought a set of 3-LW Ping ISI irons so of course I'm thinking, "why not go for an all Ping bag?" Looking at Ping drivers now. Maybe a G25 or G30, something a couple generations old but 1/4 the cost of new.

Trying to decide between Srixon or Cobra irons. I currently game Taylormade RSI irons and I need to get stiffer shafts. The price of the KBS c-tapers plus installation is gonna run me close to $400.

The thing is I can get a new iron set through my job connects for about $500 fully custom. I just can't find a retailer that fits for Srixon and Cobra so I can test them head to head. I really like the look of the Srixon 565/765 but the Cobra discount is much sweeter.

Here is my story of switching to Cobra. So I have always been a blade player starting on the golden bears back in the 80s and as I got older I became a dedicated mizuno blade player and really for 15 years I wouldn't play anything else but their irons. However, I did switch back and forth between vokey and mizuno wedges. Anyhow, the point of this story is that while I loved playing mizuno irons there came a point where I became a golf coach and cobra gave a discount to high school teams and Mizuno not so much. So I figured what the heck lets give their blades a try, specifically the Pro Fly Z irons, and man these irons felt and blew the Mizuno MP 69s I was playing out of the water. Was gonna get MP4s but didn't like the feel of them so that helped me pull trigger on Cobras. I cant speak highly enough of cobras gear. As for srixon I've only hit a few of them in the winter at my local golf shop on the simulator. They look awesome at address but when I came to the blades meh it wasn't anything better. Maybe I have just grown partial to my Fly Z pros but none the less I thought I'd share.

Obviously I know you are looking at the CBs so funny enough I can tell you my dad bought a set of Mizuno JPX 900s at a great deal with custom shafts just to take the shafts out to put into his cobras because the shaft he wanted cost more then the new set of irons. He gamed the mizunos and didn't like them compared to his cobra irons just in case but he is in the process of switching them out.

I like where your head is at. I buy equipment with the same mentality. In the research I did, the G30 is the best option. It got extremely high marks on release against other drivers of the same generation and MGS forum members that have tried the G (the next generation) noticed almost no difference.

I placed an aggressive bid on a G30 on eBay but didn't win. Shortly after, I found a setting on my current driver that straightened me out so I put that purchase on the back burner for now. Still may look into buying one next spring.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

So I bought the Odyssey O-Works 1w a few months ago and love it. Rolls smooth, I put a SS Pistol 1.0 countercore grip on it with a 50g counter weight. Great combination for me.

However, those o works 7s putters look so good, especially the red one... I am surprised I haven't already purchased one yet...

can't stop thinking about this!

especially the grand prize.... that full set of cobra gear would be sooooo sweet.

- The weekly prize will be a Cobra/Puma hat or shirt -- one of the 8 contestants will win each week.

- The winning team (at the end of the contest) will each get a pair of Puma golf shoes (models TBD)

- The winning player will win the overall Cobra-Puma makeover, including some clothes, a bag full of custom-fit Cobra clubs, and the bag to go with it.

I like to full swing my wedges, but with the ones currently in my bag (W/S PMP's) the mishits can be pretty darn penal. I switched over to a C200 SW, which covers me to 54*, but that last slot is open. I've got my eye on the new Cleveland CBX however ... now, do I want to go 58 or 60?

Thinking of replacing my 20* hybrid with a 5 wood. Should probably just practice with the hybrid more as it's the first I've ever bagged, but I'm just so inconsistent with it.

This is what I'm dealing with as well. I hit a 3i well off the tee, but not off the deck consistently at all. I yanked the m2 hybrid I had left all day, and just determined that they're not for me. My 3w however, I smoke it off the deck. Wonder if a 5w would do as well. Only problem would be stopping them or keeping them out of the wind

My 4-iron is consistent but the 3-iron is 50/50 so I bought an Adams Pro 20* hybrid last year. I haven't really gained anything by going to the hybrid as that 200-210 yard shot is still pretty much up in the air.

Like you, I kill my 3-wood off tight fairway lie or rough. It's my favorite club. It's an old Nicklaus Air Max 16.5* I've bagged for at least 15 years now, and if I have 235-245 to the pin I have confidence I will get there no problem. I'd like to think the right 5-wood would be the perfect 210-220 yard club for me.

It's not needed, but I'm definitely thinking about a set of mizuno mp-25s. I've always loved them and hit them well and there are some great deals on them now that it's nearing seasons end, but just don't know if I actually need them. I play well with my current irons, but I can't get these out of my head!

Thanks cksurfdude. I'll check it out. Been reading as much as I can on fairway woods the last few days but all the big names seem pretty similar, hard for any to really stand out from the pack in my eyes.

I had a set of Cobra Fly-Z irons previously. I was looking for more workability and control and I found it. Lost a little distance but that is expected when moving from a game improvement iron to a players iron. I could also afford to lose the distance.

I have switched my bag around several times this summer. As my game went south, I went back to my Powerbilt AFO irons for a month, then switched them out for my Cobra F6 irons, then switched the Wedges for the Bombtech Wedges, then finally, went back to My Ben Hogan Ptx irons and Wedges. Not sure if the switching around helped me, but I am striking the Hogans well.....just shorter.
