My teacher wants me to come by his place tomorrow, since I'll be in New Orleans, and hit a new driver from KZG. What the heck... Why not?!

That's got a very retro look. You'll have to let us know what you think.

This site is beautiful. I get to hear about club manufacturers I've never ever ever heard of.

I know I eventually need a new driver, and the Wilson Staff Triton is now down to $149.99 on all major retailers. It's tempting for sure, but I also might build my own.

For $150 you can't go wrong.....it is the most adjustable driver on the market today....I absolutely love mine!

Gonna get a bag of tees next time they're on sale.

Sent from my SM-N950U using MyGolfSpy mobile app

I just gave a friend of mine a bag of about 200 tees that I had sitting around in the garage. I have more.  For the past 10 years every time I teed it up, I would get out one tee.  I don't break tees, so it would last the entire round.  During the round I would pick up several tees that I would find.  Periodically, I would empty my golf bag of all the tees and put them in a bag.  I think I have about 25 in my golf bag right now.

I break a wood tee pretty much everytime I use one. When I use the plastic tees they seem to lasr forever so I have bags full of them. Like you I pick them up during the round and just keep adding to the collection. Periodic tee clean out is mandatory ever month or so

That's true, problem is I'm not sure if any place near me has them and to buy sight unseen and without demoing is a tough call. Plus, I would likely need a 12* (that I can loft down to 11* to open what looks like a slightly closed face) with a stiff, a tough combo to find

I personally like to keep things the same as much as possible. That said, I went completely off the rack with the CBX, steel wedge flex, and it's fine.

I have last year's Ping G Crossover 5, and have a bit of an on and off relationship with it. Changed the swingweights with lead tape, took the lead tape off, changed the shaft (to a Recoil).

Current status = On ;)

(In fact, hit it kinda nicely yesterday a few times.)

But thinking about trading it in for the newer, shinier, upgraded model...........

Has anyone hit the Callaway Steelhead XR fairway woods?

Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Yes and really like the feel but looked a tad closed at address and hard to get a demo with a heavier shaft. With the right shaft and clocked a little open it could be a beast, just a bit costly to have that done.

I'm buying new irons this winter. I've never owned anything but forged irons, never hit a cast iron I liked, though they're better these days. I WANT Titleist AP2's or Mizuno JPX900 Forged (and I'll look at the Callaway X-Forged). But I SHOULD probably buy AP3's, AP1's or JPX900 Hot Metals. I had a 15 HI last year, 12 at the end of the season for last 5 rounds.

I had a prelim talk with the fitter I'll probably go with yesterday and I didn't tell him anything about my preferences, but I had an AP2 and AP1 from the floor in my hand. He volunteered that he doesn't recommend Titleist or Mizuno for anyone who's not scratch or single digits...

Find a different fitter if that's what you really want then. I don't believe in the whole X handicap can only hit X club talk. When I was last fitted the fitter watched me hit the ball first and was then shocked when I told him by scores. He wouldn't even put them in the computer because he knew it would spit out some BS SGI club that wasn't right for me

I agree with Mr. Theo!! That is some of the most ridiculous advice I've ever heard. So it's OK to play Callaway MB or Taylor Made 770 but not Mizuno Hot Metals or Titleist AP3?

Heck in a 18 and just got a combo set that has AP2 as part of it. Trust me they are not the worst part of my game.
