I agree, my other driver was cut down I was just trying full length on the new 430 for a while, 1 inch is my starting point and the heavier grip should counter the shaft being cut IF IF IF I understand how that works, If not I will change the weight in the head to something heavier.

... A heavier grip counter balances the shaft so swing weight will go down, not up and it will not effect the flex. There is a suggested swing weight of around D2 but of course that is just a starting point and some prefer heavier or lighter. The best way to shorten a shaft and dial in feel, especially if using a heavier grip is to take it to the range and start hitting balls. Even if it feels good with no alterations, start adding strips of lead tape and see if feel and performance improves. Keep adding strips til it feels too heavy or performance suffers and remove the last strip of lead tape and you should be dialed in.

... Sure. I am not familiar with Ping and don't know it they will sell heavier weights to consumers. But there are plenty of aftermarket weights sold on Ebay and Golfworks.

Has anyone tried the True Links OG Feel shoes? https://truelinkswear.com/products/true-og-feel

I have switched to wearing barefoot shoes all the time and now if wear traditional narrow toe box shoes it feels uncomfortable so looking for something like that with a little more stable sole for golfing. These seem to be the only options really but can find where I could try them on first so thought.

Debating on what should be golf ball of choice.

Have a chance to try a few with some sales this week and have normally loved tp5 but may look towards DTC and what is better value for similar performance.

You should probably be able to get Vice easily over there .. have not yet tried them myself, but others on here have and seen to be happy with them. You can order sampler packs to try a few different models, too.

I was thinking on buying a mixed set of PXG Gen5 - 5-7 iron XP / 8-PW P / G T. All with MMT 80 S shafts. I made a fitting session in Las Vegas last week but then saw a video in You Tube showing the Gen6 (they look wonderful!!!!)

Have to wait and see

PXG just put out the new Gen 6 clubs. I just purchased the 0311 Driver, 9 degree neutral setup. Cut to 45 1/4, in the project x hzrdus black Gen 4 60 stiff 6.0 shaft. Put the golf pride multi compound plus 4 grip on it. With the hero’s program and custom fit came to 459. Not a bad price for this driver. Can’t wait to get it in the bag!

Keeping my eye open for the 7 wood now poular by the pros.  Looking for old Callaway 7 or 9 woods, but am leery since shaft tech has advanced so much since those were in vogue.  I did pick up a used Titleist TS2 5 wood a day ago to try.

Driver: PXG 0211, A flex Evnflo Riptide.

3 W: Callaway Steelhead Xr A flex for driving.

3 W : Adams Speedline Fast Low profile, Matrix Ozik blue reg flex, for fairway.

3 Iron: Mizuno MP 18 MMC driving iron, Recoil reg flex.

5 H: 5 Mizuno Fli-hi, Recoil reg flex.

Irons: 6 - W Ping I 500, on Recoil reg flex shafts.

Wedge: Mizuno GFF S5, 52 deg, 9 bounce, TT Dyn wedge shaft.

Sand: Original version Hogan 56 deg Sure Out on Apex original shaft.

Chipper:  (yep I carry a chipper) old Don Martin "Up n In" bronze or copper, flat face, no grooves. 🙂

Putter: Kmart Precise face balanced mallet, Super Stroke Pistol 3.0 giant fat grip.🙃

Always looking for new stuff but I think This year I may switch from my Tensei Raw Blue 60G Stiff driver shaft to a Ventus Velocore Blue 70G Stiff shaft to try and pull my dispersion in slightly. One thing I've found is with the lighter drivers I tend to "lose track" of the head at the top of the swing causing me to either cast the club or drop my hands to far inside (heavy fade or draw). I was between the 2 (Tensei Blue 6S and Ventus Blue 6S) when fitted and feel like i settled for the Tensei due to the recommendations of the fitter

Still getting used to my Scotty Select Squareback 2 but have been interested in trying a Phantom 5.5 or Odyssey White Hot #7. Putter is a big strokes lost area for me so I'm always trying to figure something out in that department

This will sound funny, but I finally purchased alignment rods. Usually I just go out and play. Whatever the day gives is what I take. I have played this game since I was a kid and a caddie. I have played competitive golf and never really reached my full potential. I am retired now and this year I am committed to actually practicing.  Putting more into my game. I even have a goal of winning the club championship. Let’s start this new journey to playing really good golf!

Not really equipment,  but I have been pondering Monte's No Turn Cast video.  Obviously very popular video and gets lots of good reviews......I keep putting it in my cart but never finalize the purchase.  Wouldn't be the worst $20 I have ever spent.

Not familiar with how that driver is weighted but if it has interchangeable screw weights going up a few grams might be a cheap way to feel the club head, having to do that now on all my woods due to change in driver length from stock to get swingweight back right on my pings'

I am typically cheap erm frugal, so my tendency is to use things until they are unusable. Often my grips will go years and years without changing, particularly if I paid to have them put on.

That being said, having bought the grips already when sales were going on, I have the Iomic black armor 2.3 that is on my 6i sitting waiting to go on. I grabbed 2 CP2 midsize wrap when I put 1 on my vokey to match what came on my 56°.

So I want to go have them put on. The grips being cut off were all stock offerings, didn't cost me anything, and while still having traction honestly they weren't up to my liking when they were new.

I want the transition from standard to midsize grip at PW-AW because I view my 43° PW as the weakest lofted iron I will full swing. The AW 48° is used more like my 52° for yardages I can't carry a 52°, never a full swing. My mind sees a transition to a larger grip at 48° (inside 80 yards) then an even larger grip on the putter (inside 20 yards) as being orderly, though some people will no doubt cringe at the idea of different grips going on a set.

The clinching factor is my copycat father put Iomic on his 7-AW and every time I call him he shot 83 that day.
