Maybe pull the trigger on a replacement stiff-flex shaft for my 5W. Currently has a mid-flex standard graphite shaft that's "OK", but after seeing the positive performance boost that my 3W got after replacing its mid with a stiff has got me thinking...

 

I just need to decide to stay with the similar Aldila ATX Blue like the 3W has, or try out the Project X 5.5 Blue...

What equipment is on your mind?

When I was still seriously entertaining the idea that i might actually be able to play again,

 

I was thinking about equipment that I wish they would make.

 

I honestly don't think that the major OEMS are really into their goods and services. 

They have stockholders, so the real obligation is only to the bottom line.

Not criticizing capitalism, but my priority in this discussion is golf.

 

One has to go to seriously expensive boutique clubmakers to get exactly what one wants, and that's beyond the means of even most golfers, not the least affluent of people to begin with.

A NOS Macgregor persimmon fairway wood to go with my Macgregor M09T persimmon driver I just received.

 

I had so much fun at the range last night, it was like a reintroduction to the game.

 

And I'm feeling you Nifty. As I read from another poster on a different forum, “it all feels like one big jerkoff”. The constant product release, the incremental performance gains touted...when does it all end?

Update:  I got a deal too good to turn down so I went with a Ping G Hybrid (17 degree) which will be my long approach club.

That's what kept me in regular flex. The seniors feel great although I wish they'd make heavier ones..

Honestly I think I could swing L flex. I have hit a few in my life. I'm not a power swinger, more of a smooth/deliberate swinger. Even in late 20s I used reg flex.

1) A club for 200+ to fill out that end of the bag. I get in trouble alot and need a distance club but I have no idea what to get. I dont necessarily want a 3 wood because that feels like a 220+ club which is not a distance I find myself needing very often. more like 195-210. I would try the 4 iron but I just cant seem to pick that guy clean, which is strange because my 5 iron is one of the best in my bag. Maybe I just need more practice. I am open to suggestions for help. 

 

2) Arccos 360

@ bardle - Tour Exotics makes a great 4 wood - if you hit 3 wood 220 - the 4 wood should be perfect for 200-210

 

Earlier a couple of guys asked about the voice caddy - I've commented on it a number of times in another thread - I'd put up the link but you know I'm a dinosaur in that regard and I don't have the lovely Laura or my daughter in law around to help.

I'm starting to think 3 wood because I just can't be satisfied and I found the Voice Caddy for well under my budget.  I'm thinking some iteration of Tour Exotics -

Thanks for the tip. Putting it on the list. Gonna see get some practice in with the 4i before pull the trigger. I wanna be that guy that can murder a driving iron or 3 iron but i think that's just a pipe dream at this point.

The project rifle 6.5 to put in my KZG(thanks deejaid) went to a shaft recommend site and then tried them in the JPX 900 forged. Shafts gave me better numbers and flight than the DG s300(in my wishon clubs now). Should have tried a Modus shaft too but i was getting bored on not being able to hit and see my flight in person.

It felt so nice on the swing I felt the club head a little more and the club head speed was 5 to 10 mph faster than the s300. Everything was hit with the 6i they had and it was just smooth feeling.

Really nothing as Cobra has taken very good care of me this year. However, my Laser Rangefinder went on the blitz so I sent it back to MyGolfSpy for inspection. If they replace it, I'll pay extra to get the new model that has the jolt technology.

HA...Everyone he had this in his hand litteraly less than :30 seconds in trying it the first time, and said.  Oh yeah, this is going on the ponder list.

 

To be fair, he let me hit his Heaven Wood on the tighest par 3 in the region, 169 yards to a tucked pin on the right edge of the green, with water 15 feet to the right.    The ball never left the flagstick, landing abut 15 feet behind the pin!!

 

Oh yeah, Callaway pre-owned will be visited!!
