It's no different than a Bobby Grace, Bettinardi,Rife.... the list goes on and on. The guy is a pure marketing genius. He gets people to actually buy pieces of scrap metal that would otherwise be trash and turns it into gold! I have always liked his putters but I've also liked Betti's and Ping Answer sty;e putters which all of them are anyway with different makers names stamped either in the cavity ,face, grip whatever. He just keeps coming up with new ways to get his kool aid following clan to buy what otherwise was never made before Scotty came up with another way to make trash into cash. PURE GENIUS. I'm only upset I didn't think of it first and sell the idea to him. LOL

added weight

How much does it weigh? Did it change swingweight when you tried it?

I was try to lighten swingweight of a putter that came in at F1. I added 3 rounds of 1/2" HD lead tape on the shaft right below the grip and it only moved the SW scale by .5pt and added around 6 grams to the total weight.

If this can be used as some sort of counterbalance it may become a good fitting tool.

Just when you thought he'd run out of clever ways to bilk more dollars for his already grossly overpriced putters, he comes up with yet another totally unnecessary add-on (to go along with the headcover thing). More power to him I suppose, but me thinks money would be better spent on a putting lesson.

Playing Devil's advocate here but:

What would you do if you were a putter designer and only released a few heads a year? Would you only ever make putters and covers or would you enjoy the creative side of the industry and try and create other unique items that many might think would make them stand out of the crowd of golfers they play with in Sunday's.

I think he is just a creative fella that has been put in a great situation that has allowed him to use his ideas and concepts to the fullest.

Your thoughts?

Interesting point.

What do these other puttermakers do aside from making putters?

We know RJB mills parts for the military and IIRC aviation/aerospace use thus the need for those higher tolerance more expensive milling machines. So that probably keeps him busy outside of putters.

I doubt Cameron has time for anything else since he shows up at a few PGA Tour stops and has to hand shape and weld a putter every so often

I don't know anything else about Byron Morgan, Bobby Grace, David Mills, etc. are putters their only thing?
