This is a great thread and will help me with a write up on the C300 that I'll be testing. So here's an interesting question for the fitting experts:

At what interval do you get refit? Is the refitting over a period of time, I.e. several years? Is it as your game improves or goes south?

I would think that a refit would happen if you are starting to notice dispersion or distance differences,  if you are getting new equipment,  or making drastic changes to your swing.    Don't think there is a definitive answer to the question,  you just have to assess what is going on with your game and equipment

Agreed, this was a timely bump on a very good thread, since I'm also lucky enough to be taking part in the upcoming C300 testing.

To touch briefly on the fitting vs. off the rack - my first inclination was to go with a stock setup that any golfer could get online or at a big box store. My reasoning was that I'm a weekend golfer who probably spends more time at the range than on the course. However, I figured for the best possible review I should have clubs that fit me best; it would be poor form to potentially have an issue with the clubs and react negatively, than to be fitted and know that what I'm seeing is exactly what I'd be getting out of those clubs.

I was fitted for Irons last year for the first time in maybe a decade or more. I found that  the lie and loft were still about the same but I needed to drop from stiff shafts to regular. I also went to a much lighter shaft and it has made a huge difference to my game. I just wish I had been fitted sooner, it could have saved me years of frustration!!
