Demo vs. after you buy - ever happen to any of you?

Niiiiice... not sure I've ever been called a dick on here before. that's cool though...

 

I suppose I should've expanded. I go to this store a lot; I've traded in clubs there for things other than golf clubs. I bought a new bag there; I bought shoes there; I bought a hat there; I buy my gloves there. I could go on but I'm sure you get it...

 

I just don't see the point in paying the inflated prices where the cost of the "experts" time is built into it. (btw: these guys are no experts); I don't do this every day, I don't do this every week, I do this once in a while ...

 

if that's a dick move then I guess I'll have to continue to be a dick. Like I said though... that's cool. Whatever.

I guess I worded the previous message poorly. I wasn't calling you a dick. I was trying not to come off as a dick in my response. Obviously I failed big there

Great now I have trade ODB for a kicker or some thing to make up for it haha

If it's a big box store, I don't see a huge problem as I usually buy some balls or something else there anyway. IF I'm doing it at a course and with someone that actually knows what they are doing, I buy directly from that person. No sense of finding a deal if someone treats you right for an hour or two even if it costs a bit more.

Yes this is my point. Its one thing to go in and buy something else or get some work done on some other clubs then find something to do in the mean time. Its completely another to go in with the thought in mind to try out a couple of models that you are thinking of buying, hit them and then go buy elsewhere to save a little. You are still beating up some else's clubs and then going somewhere else with your money. 

Also agree about finding someone that is gonna treat you right. Most of the time it is definitely worth the money.

I've been killing my extremes for 2 plus seasons and all of a sudden I'm hooking them off the planet. But I've been taking lessons and my swing has changed a bit.

Yep. I was drawing them even on the sim and couldn't get them to fade no matter what I did...that should have been my first sign lol

 

I fully recognize it was my swing's fault though. I can hook ANY club when my swing is in hook mode haha

Not sure about those clubs but obviously be careful of anything with a built-in draw bias, and that's not adjustable.

 

I'd bought a pair of Aero Burner hybrids on a Black Friday sale coupled with add'l discounts (and free shipping) so they were like $80 each new. Liked them at first but then hook city (and my typical big miss is a slice!).

 

Ended up trading them in during a +50% promo and got just about what I'd paid .. so that worked out!

I was horribly offended by undershooter calling my friend strokerace a "Dick" so I think he should send me his top receiver and I will drop someone from my roster as a gesture of forgiveness.

Actually no you're ex-military so to be called a "Dick" is a term of endearment in your case.  I'm a clergymen and so not used to such language.  No one ever talks to me like that especially not my son who was in the Navy for 8 and a half years.............

Yeah. If I'm going that far to try out a club, odds are I'm buying it. Only reason I wouldn't is poor customer service or another store might have the same club cheaper by some miracle. I love mom and pop stores, I find they give you the best deals by far.
