Steve2100
Today I’m stuck inside so I’m watching some you tube golf coaching me on separation in my golf swing and also working on driving my right elbow down across my hip in the downswing. These drills have helped me with better contact at the range. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

edingc
Things I've been working on this week now that I can hit foam balls outdoors: 1) In an effort to get length on the backswing over the past month, I had started to pull my head away and down. This caused all sorts of fat and high shots. I'm now working on maintaining a steady head vertically, allowing a good turn into my back leg. This allows some lateral movement of the head, but no vertical movement during the backswing. 2) Secondary tilt at address. After my Epic driver fitting, I realized I was standing far too straight at address and never getting secondary tilt. 3) Feeling like my right palm is facing the ground during the takeaway. This keeps my hands in front of me at the top. Not surprisingly, this also ensures both the left and right wrists can only flex in their correct positions. 4) A byproduct of the lack of secondary tilt was that I was wrenching my left shoulder down trying to get into a "powerful" position. I suspect this is what cause my recent back pain, and also contributed to a whole host of problems later in the swing. I now am focusing on feeling my shoulder move on a more level plane. It's a very odd feeling to me, but the video confirms that I am rotating perpendicular to my spine angle correctly now. Amazing how all of these little things tie together. Really emphasizes the importance of setup, takeaway and backswing. alfriday101
I went to the club today, planning to spend 15 minutes pitching, 10 chipping and then hit the range. I never made it to the range. When I got to the chipping part, I did the one chip, four clubs game. I would set up a chips from various places around the green and then use four different clubs for the same chip--SW, 9 iron, 6 iron and 4 hybrid. I was having so much fun playing around with the four clubs that I lost of all sense of time. cnosil, CarlH and PING Apologist #9

MaxEntropy
Other than hitting in a few simulators over the winter, I made it to the range yesterday and hit balls for the first time since Late November. The results seemed shockingly good, for the most part. I'm wondering if the work with the Orange Whip over the winter has helped with my tempo some? Time will tell, but I am encouraged as of right now. I was primarily focused on maintaining what felt like good tempo. palvord, cksurfdude and Rickp 3 Quote Driver: Epic Speed 9* (set -1) MMT 70X 3W: Tour B JGR Recoil 760ES 3H, 4H: Tour B JGR 19*, 23* Recoil 780ES 4-AW: Tour B JGR HF2 Modus3 Tour 105 SW: RTX Zipcore Black Satin 54* LW: TAIII Black 58* Putter: Scottsdale TR Senita Bag: BigMax Dri Active Lite Ball: TP5x or AVX (yellow) Pushcart: BigMax iQ+ Testing Complete, Final Review Posted: Sub70 TAIII Forged Wedges
palvord
I was at the range yesterday, and did not have the best session. I have been at the range now 4 times, and the previous 3 sessions I felt successful in being able to strike the ball in the way that I saw it in my mind, I'm not sure what the difference was yesterday, but I could not stop striking the ball off of the heel of the club. I adjusted my grip, stance, and even the length of back swing, but could not stop hitting the heel. This is the time where I become frustrated that I have only had one lesson. I do not know enough yet to fix a swing flaw in my game when it appears. I am looking forward to scheduling a series of lessons this spring to increase the knowledge of my swing with a live instructor vs. my ignorant attempts to change my results in practice. palvord
Spent a good amount of time working on remembering what my ball flight is and how to execute that. cksurfdude
Had the intention of playing an 18 hole Par 3 course about 45 minutes away (if light traffic) .. only to get there and see it's closed.... Thought they were open full time after April 1st but guess not... So while I was down at the beach... Walked over to the empty picnic area behind the dunes, so partially sheltered from the wind, took out the 58° and a ball and practiced some sand shots! Drew a line about an inch and a half behind the ball, set up to that, and focused on hitting the line and "splashing" the ball up. Hit a few ok enough but this is the weakest area of my game and still needs a LOT more work! MaxEntropy, Rickp, cnosil and 2 others 5 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ...
