pulledabill
Not playing or practicing much the last 2 months and it shows. I think I shot 88 the other day which is not acceptable for me. I went into hole 5 even, and left it 4 over...Left #6 at 6 over. All aspects of the game are bad. I shouldn't complain as Im not grinding at the range or at the putting green 2-3 times a week as per my norm. Last night was my first time on the putting green in Id guess 2 months or more? Started out just basic chips with my 58 then worked down to long bump and runs with my 47. Focused on weight distribution and setup and the back of my left hand going towards target on follow through. Putting I did a mix of short and long range putts. I generally just look at the "ball" when I putt, but part way through I decided to focus on the very back of the ball with the thought of "aim small, miss small". No doubt it tightened things up a bit and the strike location on the face of the putter face got smaller. Last night was really just to get back in the groove of practicing and working from the green back on finding my game. Tonight will be wedge play down to maybe 8i at most. I need to find my groove and build some confidence in my game. cksurfdude and sirchunksalot 2 Quote DRIVER: Cobra F9 10.5 Tensei AV Blue 65g 3W- Callway XR PRO 16 stiff 5W- Alpha- Mitsubishi Diamana Redboard w/band Irons- Mizuno JPX 919 Tours with S KBS Tour shafts Hyrbid- TM 4h mid-rescue Vokey- Vokey SM5 51 degrees, SM7 Wedges 54 and 58 1/2 half 3 degrees upright Putter- Taylor Made Rossa Monza Mini Spider Ball-ProV1 and AVX
revkev
I went to the range after church yesterday - it’s so hot here right now it’s difficult to be out for long. One of our teachers was giving a lesson next to me. The guy taking lessons is just starting out, young guy, athlete and going about it the rest got way.As I was packing up his teacher asked me to hit one more drive for his student. He told the guy, watch how Rev drops it in the slot, it’s a unique swing but very efficient. He hits a 5 yard draw 225-230 i the fairway every time.I was pretty psyched that this was exactly the shot that I hit. dlow206
I think I am on the cusp of really good things. I just really need some practice with my irons to figure out what is going wrong. I don't expect my club to open up the range for open practice any time soon, so just need to finish my backyard renovation. Some days I will be hot off the tee, one time I hit 12 plus fairways with driver and still shot over 100. I think that day I chunked almost all of my iron approach shots. Can't wait to get some video swings in so i can get feedback from an instructor. Hopefully i finish this backyard renovation in the next 3 weeks. cksurfdude, MDGolfHacker and Rickp 3 Quote Follow my golf journey to break into the 80s Tester for the Titleist TSi Driver Spring 2020 MGS Tester for the Fujikura Motore X Shaft Updated 07/15/2022 Driver: Rogue St Max LS - Autoflex Fairway Woods: Rogue Max St 3HL and 7 Wood Irons: JPX 921 Hot Metal 5 to AW - Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff parallel tip Wedges: Glide 4.0 54 and 58 Putter: PLD Custom Kushin
pulledabill
Burned a medium buck with the intent of short irons only to find a grove with my new Mizuno. Jmikecpa
Have a member guest tomorrow so I went to a local course to hit some balls. Just worked on tempo and trying to feel shots instead of just mechanics. Had a first while I was there. Got to the range and threw my AirPods in like I always do and about halfway through my bucket a dude walks up and starts rummaging through my bag looking at my clubs. russtopherb
Hit a small bucket this morning, still working on the backswing and starting down with solid weight transfer. Things went pretty well, the less moving parts I have in the swing, the better the results! I spent a lot of time with my 54 hitting to a target and I dropped a few right in front of it, I was really pleased with that. My aim tends to get skewed because I naturally want to set up open. The biggest thing I took away from lessons was to feel like I was pulling my right (rear) shoulder back after I took my stance, and sometimes I get forgetful and that leads to tons of bad shots. sirchunksalot, cnosil and cksurfdude 3 Quote In my carry bag: ST-X 10.5* Kai'li Blue R Flex ST-Z 15* Kai/li Blue R Flex ST-Z 4h Linq Blue R Flex Launcher 5h Launcher CBX 6i-PW CBX 54* & 58* Huntington Beach #10 e12 Contact CURRENTLY TESTING - Mizuno Long Game

ncwoz
Hit a local muni that has a nice short game practice area this morning, took my dozen practice ProV1's and felt my arms against my body for 50 or so pitches, then over to the practice green. My putting routine is typically to take 12 balls with the prayer drill to keep my wrists quiet and feel my body move through the ball, then another 12 with two wedges setting up a "gate" of sorts, feeling good temp and getting the ball centered on the putter face. Then I'll set up a "windmill" of tees, 12 in total, 4 at 3', 4 at 6', and 4 at 9'. I went around each spot 4 times, and my stroke is feeling really good. To wrap up putting, I go back and forth between 2 holes roughly 30 feet apart, trying to 2-putt 10 times in a row. Finally, I chipped from a few different lies and tried to take different wedges and shots to a few different holes. Hitting little 40 foot checkers with my 60° wedge is a lot of fun, and I might be getting consistent enough with it to use it if I need it on the course! Great day of practice, feeling like the short game is really getting dialed in. sirchunksalot and cksurfdude 1 1 Quote Right Handed Driver: 9° Speedzone (HZRDUS Smoke Green 70g X-Stiff shaft) 2 Hybrid: 18° Exotics EXS Pro (Evenflow Black 6.5) (2020 MGS Official Review here) 3/Driving Iron: 18° UiHi Iron (MMT Utility TX 105g shaft) Irons: 4-GW T100 irons (Nippon Modus 120 X-Stiff shafts) (2021 MGS Official Review here) Wedges: 54° & 58° TSW Forged (Dynamic Gold S300) Putter: ER2B (2019 MGS Official Review here) Ball: MAXFLI Tour X Bag: Hoofer Lite WITB thread here

No noise from neighbors, dogs are behaving and just watching me, wife is watering plants and doing her thing. I have about 37 yard carry/landing spot and allow ball ~6 yards to release to flag stick/pin. Its bermuda and shaggy with relatively hard soil underneath. Ball always releases in my yard. Anyway I am 30 minutes into my practice session and I have just nearly holed 4 out of my last 20 balls. Thinking, I should have went to course. I am getting a little hot/sweaty but I am OCD and keep practicing. Then the worst thing happens. I shank the freaking ball into one of my downstairs windows and the wife sees it. This is bad. Real bad. I knew I should have stopped after nearly holing out two beautiful high lob shots that kissed the flag stick/pin. But I kept on and that shank happened. I freaking never shank the ball with my wedge game. So I got the wife calmed down, will get the window fixed. But I can't get that shot out of head. And what if its permanent, like the next time I take my lob wedge it happens freaking again? Not good. I am stressing. I had a day where i was warming up for a round and shanked half the warm up bucket.
