Worked on better pivot/turn and hitting balls from left arm parallel. As Monte and some others say if you can’t make a good swing from there you can’t do it in a full swing.

started off the session with wedges and 8i from shaft parallel then moved up to 8i and 6i (mostly 8i) from left arm parallel. Spent a few minutes hitting the hybrid and woods to see if I could get feels to carry over to those. Also was trying not to focus so much on quality of strike but rather keep the focus on the movements.

overall happy with the consistency in strike, but need to get it more center and up a bit

Dude 141 come one.....put it away! I guess that’s why it’s so many factors together to get the ball out there.

Yep.  Didn’t go anywhere though.  Hitting into a 12mph wind...  they were going so high I couldn’t see them... haha.  I’m guessing around 4-5000 spin.  Just taking off way too high.

edit: also, there is no way I’d do that on the course.  I felt like I just went 12 rounds with Ali.

that sounds like my drives when i first started playing last year.

as much spin as a mid iron and a peak height over 200ft.

they’d look super impressive when they took off but then we’d get down the fairway and my brother in law was way past me even though he only hits it 260-270

I worked on my wedge game. Having a lot of trouble with full wedges. Hitting these high balloons that come down to the right. Hit 3 straight with an intended fade onto my target line to finish my session so hopefully that translates to my next one.

Good question.  I’ve been trying to figure this out myself.  My swing has to be super inefficient, and they are seriously going into the cloud layer, launching at 20° I would guess.  I don’t have a monitor for that, but it has to be spinning like a 8 iron....

I did catch one a little skinny and it probably got out to 280 in the air into the wind, but the rest of them were competing with Elon’s Space X program.

edit: that or this radar is messed up... and reading incorrectly.  We will be getting the sky track set up at work soon.  I’ll see what it has to say.

For me to hit that number the scale would have to be set to KPH not MPH.

How sad would it be if it’s the ball speed 🤣🤣 but in all seriousness, that’s some impressive speed! I would see where you’re making contact on the face, maybe try a 3/4 swing with a smoother pace. The more speed you have the more spin you’re going to get. What driver are you using?

Going to change putters back to old gamer for next month. Did some start line practice on the 36” ruler. My Las Vegas I couldn’t keep anything straight on the line. My old Corza ghost, 7/7 all stayed on the ruler. I know I am a good putter. Just surprised I could never get in a consistent groove with the Vegas. If this doesn’t work, I may need to visit the LAB

Not always centered... but the miss is slightly low either toe/heel.

I have a PXG 0811x Gen 1 with an Aldila NV orange 75 X.

3/4 swing is a block, or a hook.  Have to swing like a beast or I’m in the junk.

So when I was out on the course today, just couldn't hit the ball well with my irons. Couldn't figure it out, especially since my swing is improving on video. It was on hole 7 that i told myself to relax, not grip the club too tight and make a swing. finally i flushed it. for the next couple holes, i was hitting my irons well again, making sure to hold the grip in my fingers and not death grip it.

After 9, i decided to call it quits because there was a threat of bad weather. I went to the range and hit like 150 balls to make sure the looser grip thing wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. Was hitting the ball much better. Did I hit the ball perfect every shot, no. But i didn't hit any of those weird 45 degrees to the right toe shanks. In addition to being more aware of my grip pressure, i think i am going to go back to standard size grips. I think the undersize grips are contributing to me death gripping it.

This is just how it goes; some putters work better for our strokes than others.   There are other differences as well.  The biggest is probably headweight (345 vs 365),  loft  (3 vs 4) which would influence distance control and launch.  The 1" probably gives you a different setup unless you choke down on the ghost,   The grip impacts rotation and the SS is probably lighter.  Insert vs milled is more of a personal preference and won't impact startline.

This is just something that you need to practice over time. But it does seem like the Corza might be a better fit for your stroke.

... So true cnosil. I went looking for a Cameron or Spider or other high end mallet and ended up with the $129 Cleveland Huntington Soft 11S. I have never owned a putter that is perfectly balanced for my stroke with the head staying on path without wavering, especially the backstroke where most putters want to go outside my path. Normally I have to add lead tape to the sole to get the balance just right but the 11S was perfect stock. I am still amazed that it stood out from every putter I hit and quite honestly I had never even looked at an Ad for one let alone picking one up and hitting a few putts. Sooooo glad I tried everything or I never would have found it.
