202
Optishot 2 does this and its the least expensive out there. You can click a drop down box and select real balls, foam balls or no ball. That is what I have and only use foam balls (they are a harder foam ball) I can use real, but I don't trust others if you know what I mean. The system even comes with a ball or two. The system uses led sensors in two rows in the mat which gives you all the club data. It's downfall is no ball data. I have a flight scope mevo as well for ball data.Thank you! sirchunksalot and cksurfdude
invee123
Got a golftec lesson yesterday - worked on swing path (specifically with the driver). I struggle with a super O>I Swing Path (almost 7* on average) and needed the recording technology that golftec offers. I know that people have their grievances about golftecs pricing, lessons structure, and attempts to change an entire swing to fit their pro videos, but I am going in with specific goals to achieve and my instructor is great at getting those done. After the lesson, I can at least feel how an I>O golf swing is supposed to feel and I should be sitting in the >3* O>I path now. I can hit a draw with a driver now!! Road to single digit handicap is in full effect. Over the past couple years I would go from hot to cold to hot….. with my irons. Mishits, pulls, heavy hits when things are not going well. Then all of a sudden, I’ll hit extremely well. Went for an iron fitting in January and the trackman data was very clear. OTT- negative club path, mostly closed club face to the path. Struggles with irons mostly longer clubs, and have fought OTT with the driver but usually manage to be in or close to the fairway. The data doesn’t lie - so with the irons and driver really focused on starting the club to the inside. All of a sudden, began hitting irons really well. With the driver, I have a mental (feel) orientation that differed from the physical orientation. If I just take my natural stance, my left shoulder is slightly open to the target line. When aligned like that, what feels like starting the backswing path to the inside, isn’t. I’ve recently started to narrow my driver stance, make sure my hands are ahead of the club face, and that gets my physical alignment correct. Also slowing my tempo and now hitting really good drives again, some straight, some slight fades and slight draws, and no loss of distance. sirchunksalot, 202, vandyland and 4 others 7 Quote Driver: Fusion, 9 deg, UST Recoil 450 ES F3/2 430 MAX 4w (5w head delofted 1* with 3w shaft), 7w, 5h w/ Alta CB Soft Regular shaft JPX923 HM 6i - GW w/ UST Recoil 460 ESX F3 RTX6 52* and 56* with Recoil 760 ESX F2 Versa DB DoubleWide : Z-Star Tour
Popular Post richk9holes
I did my new putting drill for the 3rd time. Showing much better control of my swing arc, stopping where I want in the follow through for each distance 3-7'. I made 31/32 putts, 4 more than last time I did this drill and following 25/32 the 1st time. Dweed
Nice day today. Sunny, a bit of wind and 45* Was able to get to the range to work on...figuring out how my new glasses Rx was going to affect my ball striking. It appears there will be some adjustments needed. Not a huge difference from last years Rx but enough to cause some displacement. Irons were hitting about sweet spot height but tended to be more toward the tow. Well, certainly have a good reason to get back to the range Thurs, $%#@ snow due in tomorrow AM. Contron
Been having lovely evenings after work temperature wise. Got out today for a bit with the PlaneMate in the backyard hitting into a net. Focusing on videos 4 and 5 before I move on, excited to see the results Thursday when I can get to the range. Already seen short game improvement, hoping for some iron improvement next! I’ve had a nasty out to in swing, video 5’s swing is definitely a different feel but it sounds a lot better. 202, cksurfdude, Kenny B and 4 others 7 Quote Driver: King Radspeed 3 Wood: Mizuno JPX Hybrid: 19* Taylormade SLDR 5 Wood: King Cobra Offset SS Hyper Steel 4-PW: Nike Covert VrS with Aldila VS Proto shafts Putter: Wilson Buckingham

Vegan_Golfer_PNW
Focus on shift and arms in downswing today. Did this in the park by my house with whiffle and foam balls. Would go five with the drill (shaft parallel, pressure trail, then lead arm parallel, pressure lead toe, then swing) then would go through my pre shot routine and hit a ball normally. Was working with an 8i. Last ball I hit after an hour cleared the 20ft high cedars at edge of park 45 yards away. Contron
Girlfriend is starting her beginner golf courses tonight. So I went to the range while she did the group lessons. Weather was amazingly sunny all week in low 60s, and it decided to be misty with 30 mph gusts. Decided to brave it anyway, took out the PlaneMate, was hitting fairly well. My 100 yard game and shorter has felt great but changing my swing plane has really slowed me down, hoping I get some speed as I feel more comfortable. Shots are straighter and consistent but just quite a bit shorter now. We’ll see how it does for a whole 18 on Saturday! revkev
So coming off of some reasonable play in my member/guest last week and knowing that I can't get on the course until after Easter I'm tying very hard to keep the swing and touch grooved. I hit a few balls into the back yard net twice this week - I've learned that working on balance and solid contact is the key there - used to set up the monitor but then I swing out of my shoes so now it's just 7,8,9 swing as smoothly and balanced as I'm able - that seems to work best. Went to the range today because I need some short game practice and its helpful to feel turf interaction rather than the mat. I spent 20 minutes in the short game area - chips, pitches and sand trap - I've made significant progress out of the trap and had some solid plays under pressure last week - after all the struggles over the past several years including the ugliest lesson ever a couple of months ago, I've finally found something simple that works, normal set up for a full wedge, back up 3 inches, effectively moving the ball forward in my stance, regrip the club so that it is slightly open (don't just open it, regrip it open), dig the feet in three or four times depending on the type of sand I'm in and take a normal wedge swing being sure to swing left - ball is coming out nice and high and soft. As I get better at that technique, I will make adjustments but right now it's hitting the ball about 60 feet so I'm looking at the best spot on the green 60 feet away from where I'm at. From there I hit full shots for 20 minutes to differing targets- 52, 9 iron, 7 iron, 7 wood, driver - hit some part wedges to finish things off and went to the putting green. Lovely afternoon - with the calendar turning to April things are starting to wind down. It was quite on the range. I actually watched a momma eagle feeding her eaglets. vandyland, 202, cnosil and 4 others 6 1 Quote Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60 Aldila R flex - 42.25 inches SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft Ping G410 7, 9 wood Alta 65 R flex Srixon ZX5 MK II 5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex India 52,56 (60 pending) UST recoil 75's R flex Evon roll ER 5 32 inches It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD
cksurfdude
Had a pretty good range sesh this afternoon -- new routine starts with chipping and pitching various short distances with the PW .. just working on getting my swing feel .. then move on to fuller swings at a 90yd target. (Putting green still closed .. normally practice starts and ends there.) Head on breeze so was seeing a bigger dispersion, including short of course, vs past few range sessions but felt like I was generally making pretty solid contact. Then onto a 7i - first a few punch shots towards that 90 yd target and then a few full swings at a further target (just under 140 and between the old cold range balls and the headwind that was the distance for me today). Took a few swipes each with a few different 7i's been trying out (of course I forgot my gamer 7i today!) including Apex DCB (love it), Tour Edge E723 (a little chunky but a little more forgiving and possibly a bit more distance vs the DCB so prob good for me - thx @Grand Stranded) and a New Level gi22 (it's good but not really grabbing me). Had ordered a DynaPower but haven't seen it yet; also waiting for Sub 70 to release their new GI iron (supposed to be this month). And kinda thinking of jumping in on the Edel SMS iron test... Anyway, swing was feeling decent today despite still needing extra layers and winter gloves (yes as in pair of gloves...) so hit a few with the driver - low-left, topped, pull, then straight and long (relative basis), then straight and high and long .. no slices (today) Driver goes back in the bag; worked the LW a bit then pulled the 5W - three shots, three good results. So that one goes back in the bag, too. Finish off with some varied 54 and PW shots. Feeling much better about my wedge shots overall going into this season. What kind of Rx did you get? I’ve got progressives, and I’m not sure that’s helping. I can keep the ball at address in focus, but barely, depending on how I have my head tilted. And after hitting it, it’s a small blur. 10 hours ago, cksurfdude said: Had ordered a DynaPower but haven't seen it yet; also waiting for Sub 70 to release their new GI iron (supposed to be this month). And kinda thinking of jumping in on the Edel SMS iron test... Can’t wait to see how the DynaPower works for you. Nice routine—I’m taking notes. — Made it to the range yesterday. Overall, my swing was feeling pretty from the last time I was out, where I was dealing what felt like a 10-15 mph crosswind and couldn’t make heads or tail of what I as doing. I also spent some time with my 58°, since I realize that I had little confidence when there’s a bunker between my ball and the green. 202, vandyland, JerryB and 3 others 6 Quote WITB 2024 DRIVER AEROJET 10.5° | FAIRWAY ROGUE ST MAX 3/15° HYBRID G410 21° | UTILITY 699 V2 U 5/23° IRONS 699 V2 6-PW WEDGES CBX 2 50°, 54°, 58° PUTTER KING GRANDSPORT 35 BALL MODEL | PRO WHITE/BLUE ICE BAG 3.5 LS | PUSHCART RV1S
Popular Post Vegan_Golfer_PNW
Had one of my better sessions. Got a large bucket. First 20 or so shots wedges, half with planemate to get feels and warm up. The next 50 or so balls were shift drills with focus on lead heel down in downswing, back to target, arms coming down. Did this all very slowly. Then after played a simulated nine with a 70_80% swing feeling smooth. Then finished with some wedges again. Was some of the best striking I’ve had all year. Then to the putting green where I did lag putting heads up really well. Loving the LAB now. Then ended some chipping which has come on really strong. Lots of balls left 3ft or less 202, richk9holes, JerryB and 7 others 9 1 Quote Follow my journey to enjoying golf and going low Driver: Epic Max LS Ventus Black 6x 44.5" 3wHL: Rogue ST LS 75x Tensei AV Blue w/ xlink 7w: Apex UW 21* MMT 80S DI: Caley 01X 18* with KBS PGH Stiff plus 95g 4-AW: 0211 with KBS Tour Stiff 2.5* up 3/4" long, Soft stepped, MOI matched Wedges Zipcore Putter: L.A.B.
