Jmikecpa 12,641
My club opened today so I took my son to go roll some putts and hit the range...I am golfed out this week. I got some reps in just hitting some mid and short irons but something finally clicked with my son. He is a rather large 13 year old at just under 6 feet tall and now about 160 lbs. He had a propensity to not release the club well and I was able to groove that into him today and well we had him on Trackman for his last few drives and he carried 4 of the last 5 over 240 yards. Kid can get real good real quick if he keeps with it. Also spent some time rolling putts and the PXG Spitfire is getting a shot in the bag. We will see if it sticks. PMookie 12,551
Went to play nine, and ended-up just using it as a practice since the conditions of our public course are so bad right now. I literally had an hour-and-30 minutes before I had to get my son, so no warm-up of any kind. Kind of a waste of a day, really. Should’ve just hit on the range to get this swing solidified. Here are some pics of the course and conditions. For those that play such nice courses, come play with me here sometime and see what it’s like to have no other choices for golf! pulledabill 2,455
Bright and sunny here so I thougt I might play 9 after work. As soon as I left work,I decided bad idea as it was too windy for my liking. Drove by course and it was packed. Hit the range and the way the wind was blowing felt like I was in a wind tunnel so I bailee after a medium bucket. The balls did smell like bleach as the range is adding it to the ball washer. 3 Quote DRIVER: Titleist 905R S 10.5 3W- Callway XR PRO 16 stiff 5W- Alpha XS Irons- Titleist 716 AP1 S 1/2 over 2 degrees upright Vokey SM7 Wedges 54 and 58 1/2 half 3 degrees upright Putter- Taylor Made Rossa Monza Mini Spider Ball-ProV1 and AVX

Back in SE Michigan we had 30 courses within a forty mile radius. Here? TWO within the same radius. M. Parsons 658
I played in a tournament on Sunday, and played the best golf of my life for the first 13 holes, minus 1 double bogey. So, I headed back out to the range on Monday during lunch to work with my new wedges and make sure the driver was avoiding the left. I'm pretty sure the driver is going to be alright. I was supposed to be playing in a tournament this coming Saturday, but it's cancelled thanks to Coronavirus. When I told my wife that it was cancelled, she said "that's a bummer, but now you can work on your putting"...ouch! 3 Quote In my Silencer King F9 set to 9*, Tour length Hzrdus Smoke Black 6.0 S-flex, with GolfPride MCC +4 mid-size SONARTEC 3W - 13*, UST Mamiya 65 Gold S-flex, with GolfPride G2 Tour Wrap Gigagolf.com - TXR Hybrid: 3H, UST Proforce V2 S-flex, with GolfPride G2 Tour Wrap G 2016, 4-PW, AWT 2.0 S-flex, +1/2", black dot, with Super Stroke - Soft Wrap TC - SM8 Tour Chrome, 50.08F - 54.10S - 58.12D Custom Fit 35" ER6 Red at 68 degree lie angle and 4 degrees of loft MTB-X NX7 Pro Slope
PMookie 12,551
Went to the range yesterday afternoon to hit two buckets of balls working on this new swing. When I swung properly, the sound off the 785s was just awesome! Getting there. Sent more video to the coach and he liked the progress. Said I can play quality golf with where I am now. sirchunksalot 9,556
I took a couple of wedges into my back yard along with some foam practice balls to work on keeping the short game sharp. I don't have the largest yard and close neighbors make me antsy with actual balls. The good thing is, my back yard is also not very flat. I got to work on ball above feet, below feet, side hill, and variations of all of them. I spent time with stance and opening the clubhead. I think too often we go to the range and don't prepare ourselves for the real life crazy lies we experience on the course. Also, in my case, I know I always go for a safe stock shot and have lost the wonderment and creativity of the short game. It was nice getting to play around and not worrying about the outcome.Lastly, I read over in the Titleist fitting experience thread about trying to feel like you're hitting the trail edge. I'm close. Kenny B 24,288
Although I played 9 holes today, I also spent some time on the putting green because I haven't been putting very well lately. With the COVID-19 virus restrictions at my course, they removed most of the holes (to spread people out) and all of the short pins. One end of the putting green had no holes at all, so that's where I went. I placed 2 tees in the green about a cup width wide, then started putting with my trail hand (right) only from 3 feet. It's not too hard to get two balls through the gate one handed; it gets tougher at 4 feet. When both balls are through the gate, I do the same thing from the other side. I repeat this for maybe 10 minutes, then go to 5 feet using both hands. When I get 2 balls through in a row from each direction, then I move one tee 90º so I'm putting from the opposite direction. It was a different practice routine for me, but it was fun. If a ball touches one of the tees, it likely doesn't go through and stops in front of the gate so I had to bring it back and putt again. It's a different look than putting at a hole, and I was not competing with golfers warming up for their round. 2 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

cksurfdude 8,018
Well this afternoon I practiced being a plow horse .. pushing the (mechanical, not motorized) aerator up and down and all across our pretty large yard. This evening I'm practicing testing some tasty craft brews (yeah yeah I know there's a separate thread for that but that's what I'm practicing!)... "Huntington Harbor Hoppy" aka H3 from the local brewery. One of my all time faves! And during the current, umm, "situation" they're offering curbside pickup and delivery!!!
