What/How did you practice today?

Did some more backyard chipping to 3 hula hoop targets - and even got the wife involved!
She wouldn't let me catch a pic of her .. even tho after she got warmed up she started hitting a few nicely .. but the important thing is she had her visor perfectly matched to her shirt [emoji6]
Oh yeah.. I did ok-ish on a few...

Matching is VERY important. I caught some flack on my color scheme this morning from SWMBO.

My course finally reopened the driving range today for member practice sessions. So I hit 3 large buckets, all persimmon 3-wood and 49* gap wedge. It was glorious.

First range session of the year! Took my son out and we hit a large bucket each. I only hit driver a few times since the sun was just in that right spot where you couldn't see the ball once it got about 10 yards away. So I mostly stuck with my 54* and scoring irons just to knock the winter rust off. My son was trying out 3 different drivers to see which he liked the best since he's at least 4"-5" taller than last summer so his US Kids driver isn't going to work anymore. I stood behind him to watch the ball since he was losing it in the sun also, looks like my Cobra F6 is going in his bag for the season. His shots were all slight pushes but he was consistently hitting 180-200 yards with that one. He's on the fence about PGA Jr (if there's a season) but he's itching to get back out on the course with me. I love it.

Hate the range, but bought that Mizuno CLK off eBay and wanted to get some swings in before putting it into play. Gotta say, it's the least left-biased hybrid I've ever tried, stupid easy to launch vs. the G410 Crossover, and seems to spin more keeping it in the air longer. Excited to get it in play.

Went out this morning with a large bucket whi h was a waste of $9. As soon as I hit the first few balls, I realized how sore I was from my fitting the nigt before. I took a break, pounded an iburprofernTylenol cocktail, slammed a cup of joe, and stuck it out, but with a lot of wedges. Ended up giving part of the bucket ti a couple kids.

Headed up to Tokatee in the morning so did some day off stuff then practiced some chipping and putting tonigt.

My son had a lesson yesterday so I hit some balls on the range and then spent two hours rolling putts on the practice green. Still a little off with the putter but starting to feel a bit better after yesterday.

Hit (3) large buckets of 3/4 wedges after a quick 9 holes this morning. My hands and elbows are sore, but I can’t seem to stop myself. May head back out there for another session after work this evening.

Took an hour lesson today with our head pro as a tune up for the year. Didn’t really change anything with my swing and we are still working on staying shorter with my backswing and staying connected with my arms and rotation. Went out and played 4 holes after my lesson in 2 under so that means I will shoot a million tomorrow.

Went to the course for the first time since November and just hit shots that I have been practicing on my net for the past 2 months. Distances are all off kilter but thatll come. Amazing the difference between hitting off a mat in tennis shoes and hitting off uneven lies in golf shoes. I felt gigantic standing over the ball haha.

Stopped by the range after work yesterday. Its that time in Florida - you know the 90/90 season, day after day of 90 degrees, 90 percent humidity.

So you have to carefully plan your range sessions - I wanted to warm up, hit representative shots through the bag, sequence a few holes, and warm down - 45 minutes total.

It went very well - my ball striking has been pretty good lately. As always I wish I had more time to practice/play in order to sharpen things up.

What I especially liked was that I effortlessly hit drive right at and past a flag that was 220 away. For many that seems simple enough but when I’m driving it over 225 and straight I start shooting lower scores as well.

For me there’s a huge correlation with that number, 225 and the number on my scorecard.

Tour Exotics 3 wood is in the bag because we are allowed 14 clubs.  It's a great club for pulling balls out of the water or from bushes - you never want to put your hand into anything in Florida unless you are absolutely certain that it's safe.  There are rare wind conditions when I might hit it off the tee on a few holes that I play.

I love the CLK hybrid! Mizuno has made the lie flatter to take the super draw bias out of play. Of course you can adjust through the adapter to go back upright. But man, those things are absolute rocket launchers and just go straight. Very repeatable distance too.

Fast for a guy who was swinging 85 with the driver last March. Amazing what dropping 40 lbs. and working out along with half a Super Speed protocol in the books will do.

Texted a bunch with my coach to get an idea of how to correct what I have going on, then went to the range. Honestly, I hit it well. Hit 50 balls just doing basic drills. Then I did full shots with various clubs. Then randomly grabbed clubs hitting to targets, then finished hitting 40 balls with the Tour Striker Smart Ball between the elbows rotating through the clubs, hitting to targets. A good day at the range!

Warm morning got out early to hit a few balls.
Started w new toy Orange Whip which felt really good to stretch/warmup and not overdo it.
Hit maybe 25/30 8 Irons @ net then same amount hybrids which have been my big weakness lately.
Then went and chipped/putted for 30 minutes and back home B4 gets too hot.
So far impressed w OW.

3 hour grind session on Saturday evening. Hit (5 or 6?) big buckets of flat footed SW and 9-iron and then spent ~30 min chipping/putting at the short game complex. All these focused wedge sessions over the past week are really starting to tighten up my dispersion numbers. I was absolutely filling up the (5’ x 7’) net at 75 yds. Canned 3 in-a-row for you guys in this little clip.

Yeah. It’s the beach club. It got tore up really bad last summer. I hit a ball out of my yard and wanted to cry. Just destroyed the leading edge. So I had to let it go... [emoji22]
