Reesedw
I got to hit the range for the 1st time in a long time. I took the daughter and Grand daughter both did very well. I did get through a bucket with success.. the back of the range is 200yds. hit several high up on the net at the back of the range with Driver Kept all but a couple in the " fairway".. hit some very nice irons.. all in all felt really good considering I'm hitting range balls off a mat in the drizzle.. I am soo ready for the weather to warm up.. cnosil
Worked on my iron swings and pitching distances. Used the GC Quad at MGS to work on my iron swing since I had been hitting the ball fat recently. Realized that I had been trying to hit down on my irons and as a result dumping the club into the ground behind the ball. Been seeing some information about hand path so I wanted to try some experiments. Found that with the changes I was making great contact even though I felt like the hands were coming up at impact; my AoA was almost perfect for the clubs I was using. Worked on some distance control with some wedges they had on hand; I think I have added the CBX2 wedge to my list of interests. I have a gap... and yes it's a gap wedge. For the last 9 months I have been playing with only 13 clubs. Last spring I bought the 2019 Callaway PM Grind wedges in 60º and 54º. I like them a lot, and the 6º gaps fine since I don't full swing either one of them. However, the last wedge in my iron set is 44º and the 10º gap is just a little too much. At home I could muscle up the 54º if I needed a few extra yards, but down here in Palm Springs, it doesn't work on this turf. It's cost me a few strokes. So on one of my 2 days off from playing I went shopping. Although I like the PM Grind, I am not that fond of the MD5 wedges in a 50º flavor from Callaway, not sure why. So, I looked at all brands. The CBX2 actually caught my eye; right size and shape. I think I might give it a try. sirchunksalot, CarlH, cnosil and 1 other 4 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

revkev
_1580.JPG]I’ve decided to try hitting balls some during this round of SuperSpeed workouts. The first time I didn’t have my radar with - this time I did. Looks like me speed is coming back as this is where I was at on the radar after my second jump.As a reminder I was at 84.5 on track an when I was a part of the G400 driver fitting group in the Spring of 2018. Since then I’ve been in a fitness program - lost 40 plus pounds that I’ve kept off, done the SuperSpeed test but also gotten two years older at a time of life when it matters (I’m now 63 and a half). Granted the radar measures a bit faster than trackman but this drive was a bomb (for me) - I wish that I had my Swing Caddie with - I was hitting past a flag that was 241 with very little wind. CarlH
Nice afternoon, so I went to the driving range. Hit some 7 irons for awhile then worked with my driver. Was trying to get a better release with my hands instead of my tendency to holding on. Chipped about 50 short shots, working on both high and low shots. Saw my teaching pro and set up for a session with him to work on my full swing, particularly the driver. I still have 1.5 lessons remaining from almost a year ago, so I'll use that up and then likely schedule some more time with him. Time to get my game back to where it was 4 years ago. cksurfdude, sirchunksalot, bens197 and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: Rogue ST Max (10.5* set at -1 and neutral) -- Mitsubishi Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Fairway: Rogue ST Max 3 wood (16.5*) and Heaven Wood (20*)-- Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Hybrids: Rogue ST Max 5H (23*)--Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Irons: Apex CF19 6-9, PW, AW -- KBS Tour Graphite TGI 70 shafts R +1/2 inch 3* upright Wedges: Edison 53* and 57* KBS PGI 80 Graphite +1/2 inch 2* upright Putter: L.A.B. This increase was not on the same device. For me the radar has always been faster than Trackman but 3-5 MPH so that reduces the increase to 16-18 MPH - still great! 1. a. This increase came during a SuperSpeed protocol - those are not permanent although the goal is to get them that way. Best guess is that the actual increase right now is 10 mph which is still really good - 20 yards plus - It's still a bit below my SuperSpeed peak increase but I'm now hopeful that I can get back there and hold onto it this time around. perseveringgolfer, sirchunksalot and cnosil 3 Quote Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60 Aldila R flex - 42.25 inches SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft Ping G410 7, 9 wood Alta 65 R flex Srixon ZX5 MK II 5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex India 52,56 (60 pending) UST recoil 75's R flex Evon roll ER 5 32 inches It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

sirchunksalot
Hit the range today to check my swing speed since I'm restarting SuperSpeed. I haven't trained in months and have lost all of my gains. I couldn't hit driver to save my life, I was topping everything and actually had a few not even make it past the 50 yard marker that is 30 yards away from where the mats are currently. I guess they move them forward in the winter. It was embarrassing. My irons were sharp, been working on ball position and having a little forward press at address and it's all coming together nicely. Hit the putting green until the rain moved in, working on focusing on rolling the ball over my aim point and was really happy to see the ball going over it. I was surprised that we were over seeding - it turns out we didn't in early December like we normally do because of the changes in supers. So it was mats or go to the back range. cksurfdude
Productive practice session a few days ago. Started out with a bunch of lag putting uphill, downhill and sidehill (still problematic for me) for distance control, and then some chipping from various spots around the chipping green. Then went to work on the range on all of the stuff my Golftec coach has been trying hard to get me to do ... and starting to see some real improvements! Always picked a target and was careful with setup and alignment; switched up clubs, switched up targets, took my time between shots; and worked a lot on wedges and short irons including using different clubs to the same target and also the same club to different targets. PMookie
Two years ago I paid for three lessons from a teacher in Dallas in order to get a significant discount. I had only used two of them, and now that I don’t cover Texas, I’ve not been back over there to take the final lesson. I’ve been in Dallas all week for a work meeting, so went to see the coach and do the final lesson. He’s awesome. So simple. If I had the means, he’d be my guy!!!He’s on-staff with TPT golf shafts, so I got to see the new shafts, and their new color and stamping. PMookie
Second day in a row I was able to get to the range to hit two large buckets. By the end I was able to figure out some issues and start flushing everything I was hitting! It’s a good feeling leaving the range with confidence. Rain is expected for the next five days, so I have no idea the next time I’ll get to even touch my clubs.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro cksurfdude, cnosil, MattF and 5 others 8 Quote Driver: Ping G430 Max 9*, Ping Tour 70X Fairway: Ping G425 15*, Ping Tour 70X Hybrid: Ping G425 22*, Ping Tour 80X Irons: Ping i230 4-GW, TT DG X100 Wedges: SMS 50D/54V/58DModus 130 stiff, +1” Putter: EAS 1.0 Ball: Titleist 2023 AVX

I get a medium bucket, and it will last me an hour. I hate beating balls!
