Jay M. - Michigan - 14 Handicap

My dream set-up:

It's early in the morning, the greens still covered in a light coating of dew. I approach the first tee box, charcoal Z-Four stand bag comfortably slung over my shoulders, and meet up with my playing partner for the day, Graeme McDowell. He greets me with a friendly smile and a gentleman's handshake, and then comments, "I see you are gaming the Z565 Irons - not man enough to game the Z965's?" I quickly respond with, "Hey, although the 965's look like a buttery club to hit, I need that extra level of forgiveness in my game I can only get from the Z565's. I know my game isn't tour level...yet."

After some more subtle trash talk - i insult his Northern Irish accent, he calls me an unsophisticated American - we throw a tee in to the air to determine who will have honors for the first hole. The golf gods are on my side for the day, and the spinning tee lands pointed end in my direction. I reach into my bag and take the cover off of my new 9.5 degree Z765 Driver, walk up to the box, and tee up my Z-Star XV Tour Yellow ball. I close my eyes, visualize the high, towering draw I intend to hit, take a deep breath, take my stance and then start my swing. "Crack!" The driver's hot face lays a spanking on the ball, sending it screaming through the air on a beautiful right to left draw path before landing in the middle of the fairway 285 yards away. Graeme, shocked by the beauty of my swing, fails to concentrate and shanks a duck hook into the brush.

After Graeme hits his penalty shot off the tee, I take a confident stroll out to my ball. Since this is a par 5, I still have a decent amount of ground to cover. Knowing my game, and my disdain for fairway woods, I look in my back for the hybrid clubs I am bagging. "Hmm, I know I have a lot of juice, but I dont think the 19 degree Z H65 hybrid is going to be enough club, have to go with the Z H65 16 degree." I proceed to hit a laser towards the green, but it draws a bit too much and finishes about 15 yards left of the green, just missing the large bunker protecting the front corner. Graeme proceeds to crank a fairway wood right on line for the green, but it has a little too much juice and rolls deep, dropping down to the bottom shelf of the two tier green.

As I make my approach to my ball, I start to strategize what type of shot I want to play - do I want to go with a bump and run type shot, using either my 50 degree or 54 degree RTX 3.0 wedge? Or will I need to channel my inner Phil and try to hit a patented flopadopolis flop shot. turns out the bunker is still going to come into play, and from my approach angle, there isn't a lot of room for the ball to run out. Flop-a-dop it is, so I reach for the 58 degree RTX 3.0 wedge in my bag, open the face, and execute a shot that would have brought a tear to Phil's eye. I am left with a 6 foot put for birdie. Graeme puts up close from the bottom shelf to within a foot, and then taps in his ball for a par.

I set my bag down, reach in and grab my HB Collection - 6 putter. The pressure of the situation starts to set in, and I can feel my palms getting sweaty as I approach my ball. If I sink this putt, I will be able to tell my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren about the day I beat a PGA tour pro on a single hole on a golf course. As I get my read, my knees are knocking together like a pair of castanets, and sweat drips off of my forehead. I take my stance, take a deep, breath, close my eyes, and make a swing. I refuse to look up until I hear the sweet sound of the ball hitting the bottom of the cup. I let out a primal scream, throw a couple of fist pumps and then rush Graeme, looking for a congratulatory high-five. I proceeds to trip over the hole and feel myself falling.

"Slam!" I find myself facedown on my bedroom floor, dazed and confused. It was all just a dream... for now.

Passport at the ready.

As far as dream bag goes that's up to the fitting experts. I want game improvement so let's see what they can do. Although I'm reasonably confident we won't be making the journey from Oz. Awesome opportunity for somebody though. Good luck ladies and gentlemen.
