Finished the round - shot an 82. Not bad considering the driver troubles. What an awesome golf course. Definitely some Augusta feel - kinda hilly in the back 9, with really interesting greens.

Terrific......can't wait to read a review of the V6 irons.

 

I'll give you a quick overview -- these things are money!

 

Gamed the V4's for a while and they were the best irons I've ever hit - soft feel and very easy to hit for a player's cavity back.  Absolutely loved them!

 

The V6's are a noticeable improvement - feel is just as good and I simply can't get over how easy the long irons are to hit.  The 4-iron quickly became my go-to club in long shot situations -- crazy easy to get airborne and just a great feel.  The split weights on the sole of the long irons aren't a new idea - guy I played with as Pasatiempo had an older set of MacGregor MacTech's that had the same feature, but the tech is VERY useful - and the DG AMT shafts (Ascending Mass Technology - the shafts get lighter as the irons get longer) is a GREAT choice for a stock shaft, especially for us older guys...

 

My early choices for Player's iron of the year - a dead heat between the Srixon Z-765 and these babies.  Both are awesome - I'd be anxious to hit the Srixon's with the AMT shafts as opposed to the standard Dynamic Gold's.
