Jmikecpa
Hit it today and not sold on it yet. Not sure it is much of an improvement over my 915 D2 or 915 D3. Need to give it a go with the Kiyoshi Black and decide from there. I do like the color change quite a lot and it looks fantastic behind the ball. Kenny B
My local teaching pro is sponsored by Titleist, and has been playing the 917 for a month. Loves it, and after playing with him, I can't disagree with his assessment!! “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app I was playing the 910 D3 and let me tell ya, it's miles ahead of it. And I was in love with my 910! I did swap over the Tour Green that I've been using which I might have a hard time ever letting go. I know Titleist has issues but I love their woods. Irons I'm not sold on. silver & black
I play a 913 D3. Is it significantly better than the 913?
Golfspy_CG2
Put mine in play for the first round yesterday. Had my best driving day of the year and that was in a constant 20 mph wind. On average I was 10 to 18 yards longer on my drives over my current driver. Chris O.
I play a 913 D3. Is it significantly better than the 913? For whatever reason I never really liked the 913 series. So I don't know how it compares. But it seems more forgiving than previous models. It was dead straight all day. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app I do have a 913 and the 917 is miles better in every aspect, especially forgiveness. I hit a few high off the toe yesterday and they was really minimal distance loss and still found the fairway. The distance wasn't the same as a well struck shot but it stayed pretty straight. mdumble21
I've had a chance to hit it a few times, and it's a great-feeling club. Length's possibly a bit longer than my driver (no idea how much further - haven't hit on simulator yet), but I'm not a fan of the impact noise (loud ping = sweet spot & decent drive for me) and I haven't found a shaft that does it justice for me. Chris O.
So I was able to sneak away at lunch today and take a few swings on a Trackman. Most of the number were pretty similar to my 910 but a few key numbers were better; the spin rates were between 2900 and 3100, launch between 10 and 12. The ball speed did jump up from 159-162 to 164-166. The big difference that I saw on the grid was how tight the 917 was to the center line. For me that's everything. My misses weren't as exaggerate and stayed straighter. For me, that's everything. MmmmmmBuddy
This is directly from Titleist. I have highlighted your launch window. You are leaving yards out there. At least 10. There should be something that gives you the accuracy that you desire while still fitting in the correct launch window. I have no idea what that might be.... I have no idea what that might be.... It's my swing. Companies don't want to hear that but that's what it is. My natural swing path is over the top and steep angle of attack. Kinda a rough combo for spin... When I'm playing more frequently I get flatter and turn it over better but right now I'm getting out once week if I'm lucky and not practicing at all. If I do practice, it's my short game, because that has gone to s%*t.
