A truly forgiving SLDR is a beautiful thing, especially at that price..  :)

Proof that there is no direct relationship between price and driver performance!

There is no need to 'loft up' with this redesigned-for-2015 SLDR-C clubhead, so I recommend trying the 9.5* loft first!  (Ebay still has brand new 9.5* lofts available).

This clubhead is as good as it gets!  All the low spin performance that we single digit handicappers demand, with some added forgiveness that both low and mid-cappers will really appreciate.  Just get yourself properly fitted for a shaft!  I recommend a shaft in the weight range of 61-69 grams (tipped 1/2"), if you plan to play the driver at the stock length of 45.5".  However, if you prefer a length of less than 45", you should consider a heavier (70-80 gram) driver shaft.

I realize that most here will pass on this driver because they foolishly assume it can't possibly be that good since it doesn't cost as much as the driver they use now. However, given a chance, this particular Taylormade driver will not only surprise, but likely delight you!  That's is why I have been playing it for well over a year now when I could be playing any Driver out there.

The SLDR-C Driver just flat out performs with the best combination of distance, accuracy, and forgiveness I have ever found, which in turn, leads to great consistency off the tee!   If you want to improve your average driving distance and increase your percentage of fairways hit, this driver can help you achieve that!   Believe it, or not!..  B)

This updated 2015 SLDR Driver with added forgiveness led to an improved driving distance average and a higher percentage of fairways hit, for me.  I thought I was hitting my former driver quite well, but the measured comparison results were simply undeniable.

I therefore said goodbye to a well-fitted 12*, (actual loft = 11.3*), Tour-Issued SLDR 430 Driver back in 2015, because the (unheralded) 9.5* SLDR-C model proved to be a much better Driver for me in every measurable way. (Custom-fitted premium shafts in both drivers).

When it comes to today's drivers, people seem to think they need to spend more money, but those same people are often getting much less than this one offers in terms of solid, all-around driver performance. Great consistency off the tee requires a good 'blend' of distance, accuracy and forgiveness, and that is precisely what the SLDR-C driver offers.

The SLDR-C was somewhat of a surprise for me, but a delightful one, to be sure!  Now others have an opportunity to enjoy a similar experience for an even lower price. Of course, you must be willing to ignore the assumptive (negative) comments from 'the LOL crowd' who lack experience with this driver, and discover the truth for yourself! I firmly believe that anyone who does decide to 'take the plunge' on this driver will be very glad they did soon afterwards.

In my opinion, a truly forgiving SLDR Driver is a beautiful thing indeed!..
