PlaidJacket
To all you guys that still have some time left I hope you're able to get in another round or two before it's over. It's got to be a bummer. I'll play year round except an occasional cold or snow day in the winter. This weekend for instance it's supposed to be 60 Friday and 57 Saturday. I'll play both days. Love playing golf in cool weather. Kenny B
Interesting. I didn't realize that y'all had an end to GHIN posting. Does that effect rounds played out of area? so say you did a vacation in Florida, could you post those rounds and have them count, or is it just disabled for the offseason, and new rounds don't post until the spring ? If we meaning those of us "out of season" play a round somewhere that is in season, we are to post it for handicap. So example Maryland being out of season, if I play a round of golf in Florida while at the PGA Show in January, then I need to keep track of it and post it in the spring when the computers are open again. If you play in Florida or anywhere where scores are still accepted into GHIN, you should be able to post them on the computer at that course; just enter your GHIN # and the score will be uploaded to your home golf association. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Peterpc2828
Wonder if any of you guys listen to PGA network on satellite radio, a few days ago the Katrek & Maginnes on tap show talk about exactly this and the reason why there are active and inactive seasons in certain states. They claimed the USGA declares inactive season (November-April) states such as NJ as easier because the ground is harder and ball rolls out more in fairways, no leaves on trees so more likely for balls to pass through as well as some other reasons that did not make much sense to me and that I forgot. They also stated the importance of if you do play a round in an inactive state that you are not permitted to then post your scores at the beginning of the season, they also stated that if for example myself who lives in NJ which is now inactive for posting takes a trip to an active state for example such as Florida I am then permitted to post that score. Honestly I have always kept my scores throughout the winter and posted at the beginning of the season, to me some winters are tougher than others, playing with extra layers/ winter gloves/ hats and dealing with usually more wind always seems harder to me and my scores usually reflect that. But from now on I will only be posting my scores from active states during my inactive season. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

Seems contradictory as well as confusing to newcomers. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

My season is like the energizer bunny...... It keeps on going unless, I fall and bust my arse and have to lay up for a while drinking cold beer and muscle relaxers. jk but not really. Anyways we play pretty much year round here in Georgia except for a few days in January & February where it gets cold enough to freeze well diggers arse. Other than that, we're good all year. Pros play courses that yield 390 yard drives from hard/downhill fairways, no trees, etc. Give me a break. Post your scores. The dumbest part of all of this is the GOLFER who posts a low handicap is the only one hurt by actually having to use it in a tournament. You're really a 9, but you have a 7 from winter golf, you get in a tourney and you have to play to that 7.... Whom is hurt by that? The USGA?!?! No, the golfer is!Good gracious. Come on, PGA/USGA, grow the game and quit worrying about a guy posting when there aren't leaves, or they play by themselves. "Much ado about NOTHING." We are going to be beuatiful the next two days, then take a nasty turn starting Sunday (I'm guessing it's the front coming in from your area...thanks a whole heck of a lot...LOL But it's not uncommon here to get another turn up-towards the mid 60's in late November or early December.
