It's amazing how much my bank accounts are growing bit playing golf or buying new equipment.Im saving almost a grand a month so far.The equipment buying usually happens early spring for me.And the greens fees of $50 to $100 a round a few times a week are what really adds up.

I know this is a golf forum and for peeps that play golf.Im really getting used to and liking saving $1000 a month. Its almost making my hiatus from the game worth it

Keep it in the short stuff

Yep,  cost is one of the big drawbacks to this game.   Fortunately,  my equipment purchases are minimal and I trade in or resell to fund the new purchases.  I typically spend about $60 a week playing.

Depending on how much you can play the math could work in your favor. $60/18, 5 months, that about 6 1/2 times a month. Now if you're trying to rationalize  golf economics look at boating  :D, you'll feel a lot better.

agree with your post.Im just one who likes playing different courses vs the same one all the time.Thinking I need to change my outlooks and go for the better deals. It gets expensive playing a new course every time out

Take the money you are saving now; buy a membership at a nice club that you like; play as much as you like; and then treat yourself to another course once a month.  My wife and I like to travel to play golf, so we sometimes drive a few hours for a long weekend, but we always have our club to come home to play anytime we want.

Playing a new course all the time is nice, but when you play a course all the time, I think it gives you a better chance to make improvements in your game.  There is something to be said for familiarity and consistency of conditions.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Didn't put enough sunscreen on yesterday. Feel like sand paper and look like a lobster....

I hear Iceland is really nice?

I was cutting grass without a hat trying to tan my ole ball bogging. Now I got a rosy ball head

If I had to pay $50 - $100 a round, I'd quit too.

Monday morning got hot and humid. 43-38=81. Front 9 putting woes continued, back 9 putted little better but left a lot of short putts out there.

Frustrating. Greens drying out from sun and getting “thin”.

Correct thread Rick?

Regardless, I'd take an 81. I haven't been in the 80's once this year, after being in the 80's much of the last two years.

Have a “Red Sox Nation” Leadership Meeting tomorrow morning and if Saux lose it's a bit somber.

We have to discuss our money raising activities for the youth programs (all sports) in the area. We donate everything raise.

Is it just me. Or are online forums really a thing of the past. Researching some non golf topics and the forums have maybe a post a day. Is social media all instagrams and snap chat now ?

It must not be considering you are here on one that gets a bunch of traffic daily.

The more I see the JPX Tour's... the more I'm falling in love. They look like a 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 with those beautiful lines, horsepower, a winning pedigree, handle like they are on rails...

Yup. I hope they don't jack them up with the 950's.
