Getting close to “dream sheet” time. Those are the top 2 places I am going to pick.

Both sound better than where you are now.

NY more winter weather, of course, but beautiful country out there.

Let me know where you end up...both places within driving distance from me...️

Another random thought.... how come my game is better when I swing closer to 100%? Around 95% I see the best results. I guess that means I need to make my 100% my new 85%, more training!

Recently read that some amateur golfers would do well to slow down and make center face contact more consistently versus swinging too fast and hitting off the heel/toe.

I subscribe to this theory...

I must be an anomaly. Even the dudes on tv don't swing all out. Well maybe in some shots. But if I go less than 95 I'm running into miss hits.

How's New Haven CT, or Saugerties NY for golf?

There were many decent tracks around New Haven when I left CT 6+ years ago. I can find out for you if you want .

Me too. If I have a slow backswing it helps my tempo and keeps me on plane. If I get quick I have problems with keeping on plane.

Thinking more about it many good courses along shoreline. There was a couple of real nice courses in New London & Rhode Island.

I can look around too. Winters bad? I looked at the averages, and it looks a lot nicer than here.

Winters can be nasty. Closer to shoreline the better it is, less snow. New Haven area not that bad.

This always helps me put full effort and attention into each swing. It also helps me get all of my weight through the ball and finish the swing instead of leaving all of my weight behind the ball.

7 months of nastiness? I can handle a little winter weather just not more than half a year.

I've played golf in November, it's cold but doable. I usually figured golf season to be Easter to Thanksgiving. BUT I was younger and a bit of a diehard.

Well tomorrow morning I see my orthopedic surgeon to have my left hip examined.   I'm ready to find out what's going on in there as I've had discomfort for several months.

I'm due for another orthopedic Doc visit in the fall. We are on a first name basis. I think all seniors are

Whilst I am a young buck, I do regularly play with people in their 60s-80s who have gone through multiple surgeries for hips, etc. Quite a few of them have got titanium hips as a result, which has apparently made their love lives a little "interesting".

I tried to play the one in New London while I was there... way too many people. I got there at sunrise and I was last in line. Found a nice little course called Pequot or something like that about 30 minutes away.

It looked right up my alley though, links lay out, not far from the water.

Pequot in Stonington Ct., played there years ago. Winnipaug in Westerly RI pretty good also. Hunter in Meriden, Stanley in New Britain and many more.
