When I'm watching a tornament, I'll always let out a " Wow" when a beautiful shot of the golf course is shown or on an ad and at the point in time when my wife looks up at the TV screen the ad is finished and it's showing a beautiful girl.

Actually you're right.

I've been getting testy with some contributors on this forum

and since I no longer play, it isn't necessary for the regular players to see that.

It's been lot's of fun, but I'm done.

I've got political forums on which to vent.

Chalk another example up to "they don't make things like they used too!"

My in-laws are nearing 80 years of age and need more and more help.  They have lived in their house since the early 1960's.  We live in a subdivision less than 300 yards away so, we are the "chosen ones" to look out for them.  They were leaving town for a few days yesterday morning.  My father-in-law called to say they didn't have hot water and asked if I would stop by after work and see if I could find the issue.  My first thought was the water heater, which was obviously the issue.

The side of the heater was stamped "May 1980."  I scheduled a plumber to come today and install a new one.

I told my father-in-law what the issue was and told him "the new one wont last that long, I guarantee!"  He said "neither will I!"  🤣

I had a new hot water heater installed two years ago.  It has a lifetime tank warranty.  Well... in my case that's about 10-15 years, I hope.

Sneak out for a cameo.

they filmed a scene when I was coming back from lunch and the actor was running across the street, one car came to a skidding stop and a truck did the same next to him, the actor hit the windshield and rolled off and kept running down the street.

before rolling someone from the crew came over and told us not to stare and act like we were just out walking around but that didn't stop 90 percent of the people from holding up their phones and filming... I was about 100 yards away.

Roofer will be here in 10 mins so hopefully I'll know shortly. With a nor'easter hitting us tomorrow, the timing on the leak couldn't have been worse. Fingers crossed it's something very minor.

We have flocks of them walking around the neighborhood, a sure sign that I live too far away from the city.

(Not being able to see a subway station from my window used to be the standard that  I used for living too far away from the city.)

Anyway, when my dog was a pup, she'd bark furiously at them.

Now, she seems to just ignore them, just as they do her.

But we never see individual ones.  It's always a flock or a gaggle or whatever its called---I can live in the country forever

and never become a proper country guy knowing all of the terms, , I guess.

Anyway, they're all over the place, but come next month, I'll still buy one at the supermarket that somebody else killed.

I don't do wet work.  As a matter of fact, at this stage, I don't do anything more than I have to!

Roof was perfect. Turns out it was a joint in the vent pipe coming out of my kids' bathroom and travelling over mine to the external vent. The joint was at the low point so there was some standing water that was leaking out. $50 later and it's been elevated and moved. I'll need to add another external vent in the spring, and finish patching the ceiling where it was dripping, but it's nowhere near as bad as I was worrying, thankfully!
