As we enter the sunniest part of the year I hope you're packing lots of sunscreen and using it often. I'm amazed at how many golfers don't - even the Pro's. I was never diligent about applying it since I don't burn - just go from pasty white to tan, so never thought I really needed it. So far I've had one skin cancer procedure on my face and my wife is recovering from three procedures for Melanoma and Squamish cells just in the past 3 months. Not a fun thing to have done and something that can be easily avoided. . FYI, both of our dermatologists have advised us that the only good sunscreen is one that contains zinc and pay particular attention to the nose and tops of the ears. Also don't scrimp on the cost since even the most expensive one you use will be a lot cheaper than the surgical procedures. Changed the oil, air and oil filters, spark plug, replaced the drive and deck belts and checked the air in the tires. I decided to replace the manual clutch cable and brake pad so I was headed back out to the woodshed. I told KellyBo that I was headed out back to jerk my deck off. Her eyes lit up like a hawg in a corn chewing contest! You all know me as it took a few seconds for me to understand her misunderstanding. After a good belly laugh I headed back out to take care of my deck. Ya'll have a good weekend and be safe. Be especially safe with those Corona beers. People are getting mighty sick drinking those things. When a ball stops on the rim of the cup, golfers and TV announcers often say that it needed "one more roll" or "one more rotation." But they're wrong, and Pi Day -- which celebrates the discovery of the mathematical ratio between a circle's diameter and its circumference, and is celebrated for obvious reasons today, on 3/14 -- is the ideal time to explain why. A golf ball, to be legal, has to be at least 1.68 inches in diameter.
