Can’t remember if I told you all.  But I re-enlisted on May 4th as in (May the 4th be with you) for 6 years.  2 months into my new contract, I do not regret it for a second.  This trip will get me to that magical 19 year mark to put in a retirement letter,  if I so choose to hang it up then.  I came into this thinking 30 Years or bust, that is still the goal, or even more if they let me stay in and the odds are in my favor.

Whoa!!! Congratulations, that’s great

I walked into my living room and saw my 1995 Scotty Cameron LaCosta 1st 500 putter on the dining room table without a headcover. I asked my father in law who is visiting what it was doing there. He decided to use it as a cane😞. No damage done to the putter fortunately.

This is one of the rarest off the shelf Scotty Cameron putters in existence and I have had it since I was a kid.

Glad to hear there wasn't any damage done to it and you didn't have to go to the hospital for the heart attack I know I would have had.

I need a new lawn mower.  My wife doesn't like the self-propelled Toro we've had for 6 years.  It starts with one pull nearly always, runs great.  She just doesn't like the vibration and it's heavy.  So, what should I get?  I know I'm going to catch some flak here, so give it your best shot!!  I can take it!!

How big is the lawn? It's a lawn mower...I've never seen one that doesn't vibrate and the heaviness helps with having the cutting deck close to the grass to cut.  If a change is in order, I would recommend the Honda HRX series self propelled mowers.  Cuts extremely well, very reliable, the self propelled mode makes it a breeze to use and maneuver but is a bit heavy and has some vibration going through the handle.  Liked it so much I bought one for my dad.

No, that’s the only towel I’ve seen like that here. It could be homemade, there’s a ton of people here who can make towels-crafts like that.
I have a golf towel SWMBO had made for me when I got my hole in one. She paid $15 for it, crazy.

I bought a Deere last summer (half acre) and I love it.  It's not for everyone and I did enjoy the 21" walk behind for the exercise but 45 minutes rather than 2hrs 25 mins is a big deal when you have a young family.  Time is everything.

... My Navigator Zip works so well with the newer Lithium battery and is good for 36 holes, I figured lawn mowers have to be on par with them. It is quiet, never needs a refill and lighter than our last 4 wheel drive Husqvarna. That said, we have a medium sized suburban lawn that takes about an hour to cut and 1 hour is about as long as the battery lasts. It charges quickly but a bigger lawn would need another battery or a break to recharge.

We cut ours the FL way. $80 a month for walk behind mower, edging & trimming.
I cut the lawn for a couple of years but the FL heat/humidity was going to kill me.

When the news interviewed him and competitors the consensus among the traditional guys was it wasn’t sustainable. When they gave him the final word he said

We share the cutting.  I'd do it all, but if she wants to mow, I'll let her do however much she wants.

We moved last December.  I think we had more lawn at our old house, but it takes longer to mow at our new house.  Concrete curbing around all of it, and it's not all straight.  Looks real nice when mowed, but a pain to maneuver in spots.  Besides being heavy she doesn't like the vibration on her hands; arthritis and carpel tunnel.

Thanks to all that posted about electric.  I had looked at the Ego, and almost bought one before mowing season began, but don't know anyone with one.   Online reviews are good.  Checking the specs, the Ego is not any lighter than a gas mower but the vibration should be less.  I think it would be close as to whether the battery would last.

We cut ours the FL way. $80 a month for walk behind mower, edging & trimming.
I cut the lawn for a couple of years but the FL heat/humidity was going to kill me.

When I was working, I had a lawn service at my old house from 2005 to 2014.  It started out at $15/week.  When I retired, the cost was $40/week.  I decided I had time to mow and save money.

I have no idea what it would cost today, but I'm sure that it's more that $50/week, and if I were in business to cut lawns, I would charge $80/week to cut mine!!.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
