This Exec is all Par 3’s and moves kinda quick, sometimes. If just the 2 of us an hour is plenty of time. 80* today so it could get busy.

I wasn’t paying super close attention on 17, thought i saw them on the green (par 5) and the tee box is elevated. Hit my ball and then look down and there were the two guys in the fairway. Whoops. But sailed it way over their heads long past where they were in the fairway

Gets too dark to play around 5:40 that’s gives us enough time to just do 9 on the Exec next to us.
I put in the Tee Time as a just in case. Lots of couples jump in when it’s nice like it is today especially w rain and cool for next few days.

We walked off the 9th hole at 5:44 and it was unbearably sloooww. Hooked up w a Couple that were pretty good and had a good time once SWMBO loosened up.

I guess being further south it gets dark a little later than up here.  It gets too dark to see the ball at about 5 now.  The course I usually play has a lot of ~80' trees so that cuts down the light a bit too.

I need some baked out fairways in my life. Some low/mid bounce wedges and a 1 iron.  Out in the yard today hitting a few wedges... need a dang pontoon to float on top of this muck.

This is random. Do you consider this putting stance to be hunched over? Also, random question, if you had to guess, what length do you think this putter is?

@dlow206i don’t think you look hunched over. you seem to have a bit of rounding of your thoracic spine (i’d guess desk job) and it shows up consistently in your setup when you post pics or videos, so you don’t look more or less hunched here than what i’ve seen in your other posts. 

my guess is the putter is 30-31” long

Thanks, yes, it is 30". I wanted to ask because i didn't feel like my stance was abnormally bent over. I've always felt like every standard putter I have ever owned, and even 32" putters were too long. So I have always adjusted to the putter rather than adjusting the putter length to me. Decided to cut one of the cheap putters laying around the house today to 30".

good move. it’s gotta feel comfortable in your setup above all else. 

i’m 5’10” and am likely going to a 32 or maybe 32.5” putter. 

i was doing some putting drills with my sand wedge and noticed where i gripped it was way lower than i was gripping my putters. it felt a lot more comfortable for me so i marked my putters at that length and i’m gonna have them cut down over the winter

I must stand too upright. I'm 5'10 and have a 34"and  was actually thinking of putting an extender in it to make it 35". Even with the 34" when I'm doing putting practice (anywhere from 30-50 putts) my back really hurts.

i’m sure you set up however is most comfortable. there probably isn’t a “too upright” in a universal sense  

i think there’s a lot of anatomical measurements than come into play with putters. 

with a 34-35” putter i find that i keep my preferred back angle and compensate for the longer putter by letting my elbows flare out. i started feeling really crowded over the ball 

it was more comfortable to me to let my arms straighten than to stand straighter

Never cut one down that short previously, just because I have never heard of anyone using a putter that short unless they are using the Michelle Wie stance. Also, when getting fitted for a putter by a professional, i was fit into a 32" putter, but likely because my stance adjusted to the equipment length vs me standing to what feels comfortable.

Probably partially a difference in wrist to floor between you and @Chip Strokes. For me, my legs are proportionately short for my height, but my arms are average for my height, so I end up being really close to the ground (30.5" wrist to floor). Somewhere I learned that my wrist to floor is about the average wrist to floor for someone who is 5'2".

Right. I neglected to mention, while I'm 5'10", i have shorter legs then average/longer upper torso and an older back  - that's probably why I prefer the longer putter.

you and @dlow206should try out what got me to switch to a shorter putter. 

take a longer club - like a wedge - and roll a few putts with it. take a comfortable stance and grip the club where it feels best, then mark that length. 

for me, it ended up being a full 2-3” shorter than i was gaming. maybe a similar discrepancy shows up for you (in either direction)

I'm 6' (maybe 5'11", I am older now ) and I used a 34" putter for years with bent elbows not knowing any better.  I picked up a 31" putter and it was amazing how much better it felt to putt to putt with my arms hanging down, and I putted better.  When I was fitted at Ping HQ in 2017, I putted best with a counterbalanced putter that was 34" but the grip was long enough so I could grip it where I would grip a 31" putter putting the counterweight above my hands.  I found my putter.

Kind of the same thing here.  Although, we have not been in the store in several weeks.  It was bare then.  I imagine it looks similar now.  Hobby Lobby was ransacked too.

Oh and BTW speaking of Christmas. The Hallmark channel, which my wife is addicted to and Walmart have ruined Christmas for me years ago. All I hear at home are carols coming from Christmas shows she's watching from early October through January. I can't even get away from it at Walmart. They started playing Christmas carols the end of September this year. Bah Humbug.

Heard a loud BANG.  This is the 3rd time since we moved into our house last December that it has happened, so fortunately I know what it is.

The first time I heard it, I was up and running around to see if we still had a house (my first house with gas heat)!!  Never found anything wrong.  Then I got a knock on the front door.  The City maintenance crew was outside wanting access to my backyard (fenced with locked gate).  I have a power pole on my back property line and a squirrel got fried.  It's not even a power pole to my house, so I don't lose power (we have underground power lines from the street).  

I looked at the power pole, and sure enough... dead squirrel.  Must have been the mate to the one that was fried 6 weeks ago.  I'm not sure what the City will do if we are not home; probably find the padlock on the gate cut.

I was lazy and ate McDonald's for lunch because I was going to rent a drywall jack to do ceilings and now I immediately regret it. The constant nausea feeling is why I hate fastfood.

We did similar lunch yesterday and Pepto Bismol is my friend. Still feel it today.
