hoping and praying that the skies in Michigan will be clear enough to see it Sunday night, as that is the date they will be the closest....................

Thanks.  A lot of random places... I’ll be late on the list so they’ll be picked over by the time I get called up... actually going to try for Maine or Mass towards the top.

Awesome photo with Saturn and its rings at the top and Jupiter at the bottom with Ganymede, Jupiter's largest natural satellite (moon) above and left of the Solar System's largest planet.  With the magnification and the realization this is as close as they've been in almost 800 years to Earth observers, it is easy to appreciate how vast the space is between our planets and how spaced out they are.  Monday night hoping it is clear skies for everyone, look southwest an hour after sunset and with a crescent Moon will be Jupiter and Saturn at their closest!

We have a pretty nice view of them right now, here in Yuma, AZ.  Using only my Nikon binocs, we can faintly see several moons around Jupiter and a blurry bit around Saturn which are likely the rings.  Compared to this photo, they look much closer together.  My wife is now bummed she did not bring here big telephoto lens.

Well, that's like thinning a shot to an uphill green, walking up and finding your ball 3 feet from the pin.

I meant it as a “getting closer to spring” easy rolling downhill. I meant it as a good thing lol. The best day of the winter is a tie between the last day of winter and solstice lol

I can see that; my wife took it the same way.  I took it as 1st day of winter, and the weather is only going to get worse.  sorry.

You know, when I think about it, I've seen just about as many lousy shots turn out awesome as gorgeous flight shots turning out better.  I suppose that's a reflection of the caliber of play .

It must have been hazy, because it just looked like Jupiter to me.  I did see Saturn really close later in the night, but much like my wedge experience today... underwhelming.

With snow on the ground and the inability of me to travel anywhere to play golf (thanks Cuomo) most of my content these days is not golf related. Well yesterday my son asked if he could go to see his friend Hailey to study. This is a nice young lady that he walks home from school with everyday so sure son you can go. Well my son shows up and Papa Bear (either legitimately or as a tactic) decided it was the perfect time to clean his gun. Asked my son what he did, and well this is what I got.

“He was doing it wrong and needed some help so I spent an hour showing him how to do it right.”

I asked how did it take an hour?

Well, I did so well with the rifle that he had me help him with a few more!

Everyone needs a hillbilly when your car breaks down or you need to clean a gun. I think the kid is good to go from now on. Pretty sure we are going shooting with them after Christmas.
