russtopherb
Got an appt booked with an orthopedic surgeon on June 20 to get my knee checked out. It was a mess all indoor season moving equipment and loading the truck, to the point where my hip is now sore due to overcompensation. My primary doc thinks it may be due to my torn meniscus around 10 years ago but the ortho will be able to better determine what's going on and what the process will be. It's the same guy who did my dad's total knee a few years ago, and he did an awesome job with him. Fingers crossed at most it's just a scope or something to clean things out, vs anything major. Even better would just be PT, but we shall see... I want to try and get in as much golf now as I can just to play it safe!!! Rickp
Had to bring my cart in to the shop this morning, V belt needs replacement. It sounds like a 6 lb Pot Bellied Pig getting its tail pulled! I figured while it was there do the yearly Service also as Drive belt is included. When I got there they were up front and told me that the OEM belt from Yamaha we’re back ordered with no delivery soon but had a replacement that they would stand behind if there were any problems. They said that the belt is not the only part with supply chain issues, I didn’t see that coming. Of course I did the replacement belt, I’ve had only great service from this Garage. They do free loaners so that helps. Got it back in a few hours so good to go. Tom the Golf Nut
1 hour ago, EasyPutter said: It's probably the one time I don't mind my tendency to have a farmer's swing. Not that any farmer would actually swing a club this way but it does remove sod exposing soil where planting is possible. Ball may not go far but onto short grass is far enough out of that stuff. Had considered sharpening the bottom leading edge of the club to cut through the vegetation but with how often it goes the other way and balls hit thin it would cause a different kind of slice than usual. (No golf balls were harmed in the making of this comment. Any resemblance to actual golf is purely coincidental.) I used to practice my swing with a farmers long handle sickle. Instead of running a weed eater I would go around the property with the sickle using my golf swing until I couldn't swing it anymore. Totally amazed that I didn't cut my leg off or loose any toes. Worked on my golf swing and cleaned the property at the same time! I still have that sickle in my shed.
