Trust me I can relate. At the course my old man ran we had to take chicken manure and mix it with sand and then shovel it by hand in the spreader. And the mix had to be right do too much manure has too much nitrogen by itself and will cook the grass. We also had a mix with sewer sludge from the local waste treatment plant we had to mix it with peat loam. On that stuff we also had to use sticks with nails to pick out used condoms no joke. Later on when I got a drivers license I did get to drive the C-60 dump to pick up the materials so that was sorta a blessing for me in those days. But even with that I still had to help in all the other processes like before

LOL that is why you wear knee high rubber boots and wash them in the wash pit. And trust me those old boots get hot in the even in the spring and fall. If you did not wash the insides they would stink as bad as the outsides.

This post is for Tony, Big Stu, Jason, and any others here who may be interested in cars as well as golf...............

Link below to some pictures I took Saturday at this event.

It is our 17th year at this site, and the 8th consecutive year I was chair of this event.

Between the Silent Auction, Special Raffle Gifts, 50/50 ticket sales, and general public donations made at this event we raised about $9000.00 for Leader Dogs this day.

We had a record number of paid participants who showed their cars, and had them judged for awards.

It is free for any to come and see, and the venue is a great location to hold an event like this.

The Vipers, Mustangs, and Cobras were part of a “Snakes in the Grass” Cars & Coffee event held simultaneously and run by the Father-In-Law of Keith Aldridge who owns this venue. The F-I-L also belongs to our Corvette club, so we accommodate and coordinate very well together.

And now you know why I really haven't had the time to get out and play golf as much as I would like too.

Leader Dogs has been a "special" organization for me to try and support since my teen years when I met a friend of my Dad's who had a golden lab that was able to lead him around like a fortunate person who has sight can do.

The cars just bring a lot of nice people together for a great cause.

I think it's a good thing you do. I've checked out Leader Dogs website and saw what it takes financially to train a dog for the blind and you organizing an event to raise money for them is wonderful.

Plus, having the car show is a great way to hang out and get to know some people that share the same passion as you.

Great way to raise money for a worthwhile cause.
when our daughters we’re around 11 or 12 years old SWMBO an article for puppy raising/training for Guiding Eyes.  She signed us up and we were vetted and we’re given a Female Lab pup!  Pup was selected for the family by Guiding Eyes Staff.  We did everything asked went to meetings, veterinary visits and after a year turned her over to Guiding Eyes, very emotional for everyone.
After maybe 6 months or more we were invited to the now trained Pup graduation with her new Partner!!! Of course we went and met her new Partner and all the other newly graduated pups.
Great experience for everyone!!!

Keep up the good work!!!

That I do follow, as well as IG and Facebook.  Not hard to cover my tracks there.

It's when we start the van to go anywhere as a family, the vehicle connects to my phone, and starts automatically playing whatever I was last listening to that's the problem.  I get enough eye rolls when Mark Crossfield's voice suddenly comes over the speakers from a Hack it Out podcast; if Paige's voice came across talking about god knows what, I suspect I'd have some red-faced explaining to do about why I'd be interested in what she has to say...  😂

Mildly tweaked my left glute & hamstring playing softball, and now I’ve got a tournament to play in a couple hours.  It’s fine, but not 100%.

I normally walk, and right now I can’t decide if today I should walk to keep it loose, or if I should ride to avoid fatigue given that it’s not quite fully healthy.

Anyone have any brilliant insights?

I for the sake of your score I’d walk - keep the rhythm and flow you are used to.

But stretch stretch stretch. Now, before you go. During the round. Everything three or four holes take a minute and stretch.

ever do legs up the wall, where you find some clear wall space, lay down on the floor, shimmy your butt up to the wall and rotate your legs straight up - like you are sitting on the wall w your back on the floor. Great stretch. Can do some figure four legs that way to also stretch out the back of your glutes, periformas area. Good stuff like that. Part of my daily routine.   I’m a 55 year old walker who works out on the elliptical when I can’t walk the course.

I normally walk, and right now I can’t decide if today I should walk to keep it loose, or if I should ride to avoid fatigue given that it’s not quite fully healthy.

Anyone have any brilliant insights?

I'd hedge, talk to my cart partner about it, put my clubs on the passenger side of the cart and walk whenever I could to keep loose.  That way if you get tired or there are any loooong walks between greens and tees you have a ride.
