Finally pulled the trigger.... bought a skateboard.  My son was apparently bored watching me ride his around... 😂😂

Got it as close to my last set up I could brand wise, and width.  Always liked the 8.5’s.

Was planning on spending the $ on a new wedge, but I’m just going to hold on golf till I see a change in the COVID Trajectory.

I can wake up and down the road without worry, and even head to the kids school.

Ill post some pictures of my casts in a few weeks. 😉

Nice! I gave my board to my coworker's son, but I hung on to my Carver that I've had since like... 2009? I bust it out on occasion and ride to my mom's house down the street. My wrists are too jacked to be trying to do ollies and flip tricks anymore, sticking to land surfing

Yeah. It’s been a while. I’m getting knee pads at least, and a helmet. Have to set a good example for my young lad.

I got a Powell, always loved Powell boards.

Setting it up as a cruiser. 56mm super soft wheels.

Trying some new grip tape, it’s rubber.

Not going to be doing anything above knee height, me and rails never got along very well. Lots of bad memories. Haha.

Goal is to be able to pull off a hard flip.

Hard flips eh? Might want to buy a jock strap and a cup while you're at it. At least you already reproduced, LOL!

I have not had a haircut since just before Christmas so I had the lovely Mrs Chisag take 1" off the bottom all the way around. No layering, no thinning shears just cut off the bottom. While I won't say it looks like my stylist cut it, I thought she did a great job. So all you skeerdy pants out there, take a page from Nike's Marketing Dept and Just Do It!!!

I’m currently sporting Corona-cut 3.0, courtesy of my live in girlfriend. 1.0 was... interesting. 2.0 was... also interesting. We watched a couple instructional videos prior to 3.0 and I’m never paying for another haircut.

I have a question...what’s the craziest thing you’ve seen on a golf ball that you found while playing?  Pictures, or written sharpie?🤪

I found a ball with hand written sharpie that said “**** Jay Cutler”

I was fortunate to marry a Hair Stylist/Salon Owner almost 24 years ago. She retired the same week that I did over 3 years ago. As such, she has cut m6 hair for the past 3 years.......and I use a #4 on my beard.....as I have for the past 40 years.

Yep. Tuesday. The new NX9 is supposed to be added to their site this week. May take a look at what’s been upgraded and possibly swap-out.

That’s awesome Rick!

When did she start looking at colleges/colleges offering?

My oldest is turning 14, trying to show her other options. She’s dead set on culinary school, but I’d like to show her some more traditional schools.

My daughter has been wanting to go to James Madison University since she was 9.  I guess it didn't help that we would vacation at the Massenutten Resort during twice a year.  So she thinks we should move to the resort and visit her down the road at JMU, LOL.  If she's serious about JMU, I'm gonna need to donate organs to a chop shop because that school's out of state rates are $$$$$$$$$

My daughter is a psychologist in Australia. She now 'sees' all of her patients via telemedecine guess it's like a Skype or Zoom lookealike. Now that's got to be interesting for both sides. .And yes she's very busy.

Helped setup my parents for a call with my dad's oncologist.  Lots of telemedicine happening and not all of it secure.  I always cringe when I hear they medical field is trying to use Zoom Meetings for their stop gap telemedicine conferences...

Some great news for my wife and myself. My son and daughter in law said they wanted to FaceTime us tonight. Yup you probably guessed it. They're expecting. This will be our first grandchild so we're super excited. We had actually given up hope that we would ever see grandchildren.

The cost of college is astronomical. I’ve got 4 Gkids and all smart. Im hoping they can all get help from the schools. Emma received a decent grant and then thru in another financial incentive. At another school she had a free ride offer if she played Softball Div II but the Biology program wasn’t particularly impressive. she’s not good enough hitter for a free ride DI.

It’s expected that tuition for my 9 year old will be $62,000 a year by the time she graduates HS.

College undergrad degrees are not worth 1/4 million dollars....

Villanova is 55k tuition & 15k R&B for a sweet 70K. She got around 40K from the school.
For each of our Gkids we started a 529 which has some $$ that will help. The other Gparents have become mute when this topic comes up.
SWMBO and I are happy to help.
And to your point college is WAAAY overpriced.

I agree the cost is ridiculous. When my kids were going to school and say it's only 30k (that was quite a while ago), I continuously reminded them that I had to earn 2X that because you pay in net dollars.

So even with lower tax rates today the 70k number pales in comparison to what one has to earn after: fed, state, SS, Medicare and in many cities now local income tax. Oh and I also reminded my kids get a degree in something that'll get you a job. Ancient studies or art history - definitely not.

In 1987, when I graduated HS, my parents told me, just like they told my 4 older siblings, “You can go anywhere in the country if it’s less than in-state for a Michigan school.” I graduated from App State, and out-of-state was SIGNIFICANTLY less than Michigan schools in-state. UofM was $13k for tuition back then. App was between $8k and $9k per year.
It’s totally out-of-hand now, and no one who can change it cares.

We put both our daughters (twins) thru college and one masters degree for around 100k. The year in Australia for one of them isn’t added in. Of course this was 25 years ago. The college education for them at that time was well worth it considering they actually used it.

Definitely possible to go out of state cheaper than instate.  Private colleges while the base price is high and often higher that public colleges,  scholarships are available that can make it cheaper than the  public schools.  My daughter is going out of state and the cost is roughly the same as instate.   The key is to shop around and see what the schools offer.  Obviously being a good athlete or solid academically will help the price.

Your correct my SIL and daughter and Gdaughter researched the colleges she was accepted to and visited them all except Dartmouth & Yale. She applied to them as a because she could. By the time the offers came in UCONN (in state) was giving her the best offer but only by 10k. I like the Villanova choice.

BTW, when my daughters were HS Seniors I told them they had 4 years of paid college + Masters and one wedding.
And that’s the truth

Seeing the ridiculous cost of getting a degree in this country, which in no way guarantees you a good paying job, just reinforces my hope that my son decides to go to trade school and become a plumber, electrician or HVAC tech.

Couldn't agree more Rick. Currently paying off my loans now. I had about 75k and have cut that in half living at home in about 1.5 years. Just have to be smart on what you spend on, but getting out from under it is definitely doable. It just shouldn't cost that much to begin with.

We do a disservice to our kids making them think that College is for everyone. before covid, companies were crying for skilled tradesmen. My SIL who lives in Hobart, Australia went the trade route in high school. At 40, he's never been unemployed, is happy and makes a ton of money. No school loans to pay off,  Skilled trades are respected all around the world. .
