There should be a 4th door for standing their staring at doors 1-3 and knowing all have merits, but developing analysis paralysis and ultimately doing none of them. That'd be more like me.

Fresh build...

Forgot how much fun it was building skateboards.

First deck since 2000.

Powell 8.5

Independent Trucks

Bones Reds bearings

DKL Rubber Grip Tape

Bones Rough Riders wheels

Venom 1.25” hardware.

It’s what in my bag for a while... emoji23.png

That looks great!! I still have the last board that I assembled, circa 1990 or so. Tuff Skts Christian Hosoi with Indy trucks and Santa Cruz OJII Street wheels.

Think I might buy another one to build... this thing is a heavy beast. Perfect for cruising around just like I want to do with it... but the inner trickster wants something light and responsive. Going to do some research, and see if I can’t find the 10k MOI/460cc driver version of a board.

Going into this progressively. Starting with mastering the Ollie again. Already at couch cushion high. Then on to the shuv it, kick flip... etc. that way it will keep my interest and my 37 year old beat up self can prevent as many injuries as possible.

But first I need to do some foot muscle strengthening.

Yep... I’m doomed... another hobby.........

Maple?

You are correct good sir. I think they would make a good counter top since maple is a nice hard wood I think it would be nice and able to be used as a cutting board which would cause a lot of extra work but I think it would look nice.

Maple is a traditional wood cutting boards. If you plan to use it as a cutting board, make sure to use a food safe finish. Personally, I would just use mineral oil it it's going to be a cutting board. It's easy to maintain and safe for food prep.

Yep that's why I grabbed it because of it being a great wood for cutting boards. It'll end up with epoxy sides and the maple in the middle the epoxy is what I'm more concerned about getting beat up. When I redo the kitchen in a few years I'll make that decision then just having a good dry cheap wood on hand and not having to look for it when I want it is handy.

Thanks Rick. Definitely a challenge.

Update on the house thing. I got some good insight from a local contractor. They pumped out a creek nearby about 5 years ago and that has royally screwed up our shore here.

With such a small area needed erosion control he told me to get ahold of the state and let them know I want to do it myself with smaller rocks.

Otherwise I’d lose my entire beach for about a 20’ section.

Going to get in shape hauling rocks from the front yard to the back, stacking them, etc...

If the wind would just stay out of the north, south west, west and anything on the westerly side of that I’m ok. Anything from the North East, East, South East and it’s no good. East being the worst.

I love live edge boards - they add a lot of character to a kitchen or dining room

Hauling rocks from front to back? That'll get you in shape real fast, but keep plenty of aspirin around.

My daily driver is an 02 911. It's now sitting in an indie shop because it was running rough and smoking on start up. The tech thinks he's got it narrowed down to a bad injector and the mass airflow sensor. Since he's got the fuel rail off he recommended replacing the other 2 injectors on that side since they're only $70./piece. So far I'm into it for about $1800. Guess I won't be updating my irons this year

I’ll be replacing some injectors on Monday.

Getting smoke at turbo spool and under load.
