those Texas instrument calculators are still insanely expensive. i had to buy a TI-84+ for a statistics class last year and it ran me about $160

I used to “stash” them around the shop so I always had one close. After CAD came in didn’t need the TI as much.
Man that’s a loong time ago.

daughter or grand daughter? Either way she's cute but 12 years away from horrible teenage years 😂

She is my granddaughter, Bianca is 25, Lailla is her daughter. We do have a pretty chill 12 year son, Jake.

I'm 40 BTW, and very proud to be called pawpaw.

Windmill Lakes finally announced their new Membership deal. The same as the last one, $200 for 2 years unlimited golf (pay for carts if you want one), which is fantastic, however, as a member you can still only book 3 days in advance whilst everyone else can book 10 days in advance. So, welcome to 2pm tee offs on the weekends again.

200 bucks for unlimited golf?

That is a great deal.

Sometimes I have random thoughts about how far along technology has come since I was a kid. Today I was printing a label with a digital label printer that you type on, and then it prints a little label.

When I was a kid, i used to use this:

I remember those very well too.

Oh man i remember those.

so ironic you posted this today.  I was judy talking to our GM when i asked him to order a calculator for me, mine walked away...AGAIN.

we mentioned how far technology had come.  I told him my brother, sisters and I had bought him one of the first hand held Texas Instrument calculators for Christmas.  It was like $100 or so.  Now they are $3.99 throw away type things.

i think it was something like this.

We had to share one of those.

It might be still at my mom's house.

My dad taught statistics at USC, which might have been the reason we bought it for him 😀

Cool. Dad is no longer around, hopefully on my next trip down there our schedules will allow us to tell several stories over some good golf, food and a beverage or two.

Bought a cart this summer for cheap and decided to put a little money into it for a makeover. Here’s a quick before and after.

That’s funny, with that username I was picturing a grey-haired Obi-Wan looking dude in his 60s. Turns out I’m 2 years older than you. Mind blown.

Of course my username probably triggers images of a grumpy old man with a rifle...

Its interesting what we picture each other to be like on forums based on posts. I thought @PMookie was in his 20s based on his love for Uncrustables.

My club is tearing down a cart shed and replacing it.  I talked to the workers today and asked if I could take the lock off my shed door because it had sentimental value.  They looked at me like I was crazy.  Perhaps I am.

My father moved his cart into the shed in 1968.  I took it over when he passed years ago.  It's had the same lock on it all that time.  Who knew Masterlocks would last over 50 years with just a little oil and WD-40.

When we moved to FL (cart friendly) and newly retired I had a idea of picking up a used cart sticking it in the garage and doing similar to what you did.
I kinda forgot that SWMBO has a say (majority position) in this and after a short discussion WE decided it wasn’t going to be part of MY retirement.
